KERRI Success Story: Altruist 💙

In May 2026, Altruist found his forever home with Emily, beginning a new chapter filled with love, trust, and companionship.

Now known as Soda Pop, he and Emily have built a special bond rooted in mutual love and respect. There’s nothing better than seeing our horses find the people who truly understand and appreciate them.

We couldn’t be happier for Emily and Soda Pop and wish them many wonderful years together! 🐴

Sanctuary Horse Spotlight: Ignition (Iggy)

At KERRI, our sanctuary horses are retired Thoroughbreds who, for various reasons, will not be rehomed. Instead, they are given something every horse deserves: a safe, loving home for life. 💙

Meet Ignition, affectionately known as Iggy — a 2017 gelding by Uncle Mo out of Cambiocorsa.

Iggy is a gentle, affectionate soul with a sweet personality and a serious love for treats. It doesn’t take long for him to win over everyone he meets! Due to ongoing health concerns, including a tendency toward ulcers and colic, KERRI determined that permanent sanctuary care was the best path for Iggy rather than adoption.
Today, Iggy enjoys his days surrounded by his KERRI family, receiving the care, comfort, and security he deserves. His story is a reminder that retirement doesn’t have to mean the end of a Thoroughbred’s journey. Sometimes, it’s the beginning of a life filled with peace, love, and dignity. 🐴

Meet KERRI Ambassador, The Chosen Vron 💙

A California racing legend, a fan favorite, and a horse whose determination and talent made him one of the most celebrated California-breds of his generation.

After an incredible career, The Chosen Vron retired in March 2025 and joined the Kingfisher Equine Rehab & Rehome Program, where he now serves as an ambassador for KERRI’s mission to give Thoroughbreds meaningful lives beyond the racetrack.

KERRI Success Story: Bella’s Kid 💙

In April 2025, Bella’s Kid found his forever home with Martha, and he’s been loving life ever since! After making the move to Idaho, Bella’s Kid experienced snow for the very first time—and it looks like he’s quite enjoying his new surroundings!

We’re so happy to see this sweet boy thriving and settling into his beautiful new home. Here’s to a wonderful next chapter filled with new adventures, plenty of love, and lots of happy memories! 🥰
