Honey is available for an in barn lease or half lease with SYHRS at Bella Cavalli Farms in Solvang. She is a gorgeous Welsh Pony mare standing at 13.3 hands and 20 years young with a solid training background in many diciplines. She shines in dressage and has competed to 3rd level. A great first pony as she loves kids and just came off a lease with a woman in her 70’s. Honey has done it all from beach rides, trails, cows, hunter jumper, driving, and excelling in dressage. She has an incredibly sweet personality and always nickers and greets you in the pasture. She truly loves people! Honey is gorgeous, super kind, willing, easy on the ground and under saddle. She is very laid back but also very well trained and easy to ride. Her owner just graduated Veterinary School and is very busy but would like to find a great rider to enjoy Honey. The years of dedication and hard work paid off this weekend at the California Dressage Society Championships for the partnerships of Bea and Figgy and Olivia and Danci. Bea was awarded Champion 2nd Level JR twice and Olivia was awarded Champion 1st Level JR twice as well. I am so incredibly proud of these amazing riders and the love they give to their beautiful horses. What an incredible competition. I am so happy to have been a part of these winning teams and to see how kind and thoughtful they are behind the scenes in taking incredible care of their horses every day.

California Dressage Society Championships crowned Bea and Fig 2nd level JR Champion of both CDS and USDF and Olivia and Danci 1st level CDS JR Champions! All their hard work has paid off this year. Beautifully ridden tests in a huge show atmosphere. The competition was strong with many other gorgeous horses and great riders in the JR division. After all the ups and downs throughout the year of training their horses both Olivia and Bea took charge and rode their best which paid off with amazing prizes from all the fabulous sponsors of the year end show. Thank you CDS and USDF!

Bea and Olivia worked so hard all season and earned qualifying scores to compete at the California Dressage Championships in Rancho Murieta. We arrived last night and settled the horses in. Today was an easy warm up day and tomorrow Bea and Fig will show second level junior division and Olivia and Danci will show in the first level junior division. I am so proud of both pairs they continue to show dedication to their horses and are constantly improving. Good luck tomorrow!

SYHRS celebrated a birthday and Labor Day weekend horse camping at Montana de oro in Los Osos. Here is day one of camp set up and an easy trail ride. Gorgeous weather. Fig lead the way for Cal and Danci. Cal grew up quite a bit on this trip! So much fun!!!

What a lovely show last weekend at SCEC in Somis. Thank you for hosting such a well organized event. The footing here is great and the environment is very friendly and welcoming. Bea and Olivia made their own musical freestyles and preformed them beautifully.

It’s very handy to have a horse that will cooperate in opening and closing gates while the rider is mounted. We use it often in the hunt field and while trail riding as when one comes across a gate that is closed,opening and closing it again from the saddle is so much easier than dismounting and finding a way to get back on a tall horse.

Cal has been so fun to watch grow up over the past year. He was a gangly 2 year old when I brought him home. Was barely halter trained. I have taken my time to develop him at his pace over the past year. Starting with lots of groundwork. Getting him used to wearing a saddle and bridle. Lots of long lining and ponying around the farm. I am so proud of him and his solid work ethic. He has beautiful gaits and will be starting his show career in dressage soon.
