This kind of hunting asks more of a dog.

Steady. Quiet. Close.

Until he’s needed.

After the shot.

Calm. Direct. To hand.

The way it should be.

There’s no shortage of good dogs.

Plenty will find birds, make retrieves, and get through a hunt.

That’s not really the standard I’m after.

A versatile dog should be able to handle whatever the country and the game demand—upland birds, waterfowl, big game, fur, and everything in between—and do it with control.

That’s what I’ve always tried to build toward, and what this page will reflect.

Arna v.d. Skjaldborg just completed her final step for breeding certification for Verein Deutsch Drahthaar!

Her evaluation resulted in her being placed in the “Very Good” category in both Form (10) and Coat (9) for a final score of 10/9!

There are breeding plans for Arna in the VERY near future and I am excited to see what amazing hunting dogs she will produce!

Thank you Elijah Barbour for the pairing that created this fine dog!
