A sweet 4-month-old Border Collie puppy named Dottie has gone missing
in the Chesterfield area near Kelly Toponce Road. Her family is
heartbroken and missing her very much.

Dottie is still just a puppy and may be scared, confused, and far from
home. If you have seen her, picked her up for safekeeping, or have any
information about her whereabouts, please contact our clinic as soon
as possible.

As the temperatures start warming up, some pets can really benefit from a good summer shave-down — what we lovingly call a Ranch Clip! 🐶🐱

While we are not professional groomers, we do offer sedate-and-shave appointments for dogs and cats that may:
🐾 Have severely matted coats
🐾 Struggle with traditional grooming appointments
🐾 Become stressed or anxious during brushing/shaving
🐾 Simply need some extra help staying comfortable during the hot summer months

☀️🐾 Heat Stroke in Dogs: Know the Signs 🐾☀️

As temperatures start to rise, it’s important to remember that our dogs can overheat MUCH faster than we do. Heat stroke is a life-threatening emergency that can happen quickly — even on days that may not seem extremely hot.

Dogs do not sweat like humans. They mainly cool themselves by panting, which means they can struggle to regulate their body temperature during hot weather, exercise, or poor ventilation.

🚨 Signs of Heat Stroke in Dogs:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Bright red gums
• Weakness or collapse
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Disorientation
• Rapid heart rate
• Difficulty breathing
• Seizures

🐶 Dogs at higher risk include:
• Brachycephalic breeds (Bulldogs, Pugs, Frenchies, etc.)
• Overweight pets
• Senior pets
• Thick-coated breeds
• Pets with heart or respiratory disease

💡 Tips to Prevent Heat Stroke:
✔️ Always provide fresh water
✔️ Avoid walks during the hottest parts of the day
✔️ Never leave pets in vehicles — even for a few minutes
✔️ Provide shade and cool resting areas
✔️ Limit strenuous exercise in warm weather
✔️ Watch closely for overheating during outdoor activities

❗If you suspect heat stroke:
Move your pet to a cool area immediately, offer cool (not ice-cold) water, wet them with cool towels, and contact your veterinarian right away. Heat stroke can cause organ damage very quickly and should always be treated as an emergency.
