Midnight "Taco" Run
Now if there ever was a heart horse, Taco is it for me. In fact, he came to us emaciated and was still willing...there is no doubt in my mind that we were supposed to rescue this elegant creature. Sometimes, when I go into the barn, I will walk down the isle and see Taco standing with a gaping mouth. He will acknowledge me, but I imagine he is processing what he went through at the kill pen. He has gained weight and wants someone to spend time with him...such a doll baby.

Angel aka Banshee
This is a very brave horse. She loaded right off the trailer and gallantly walked up to the barn. Now that doesn't mean she wasn't afraid. The look in her eyes will tell you that. And the way she would turn and glare only ment a lot of pain was inflicted on this horse by someone. But when you're saving a rescue, you have to take the bad out of the horse and hopefully teach them to trust again.

Cherry Bomb. She came to us afraid and would not get off the trailer. Another horse guarded her well being. Ash Stephen's with Dixie Land transport worked dangerously in between the two to release her from the trailer. Finally after what seemed like hours, Cherry was off and walking up to the barn without any problems. It is taking some time to de sensitive her. God only knows what she went through to get here. But we have a pretty good notion since she was so afraid and loaded herself into the transport trailer. We are so glad to have her here, and little by little she is becoming the awesome mare she wants to be.
