Fun Frenchie Facts
• Bad swimmers: Because of their heavy heads, muscular build, and short legs, they cannot stay afloat easily and sink like stones.
• Heat sensitive: Their flat faces (brachycephalic structure) make it hard for them to cool down, meaning they overheat very fast in warm weather
Reproduction: Unable to breed naturally FALSE
This is the biggest misconception we have encountered recently, and it has led to unexpected, unwanted pregnancies. These pregnancies can also create unforeseen expenses because delivery often requires a C-section.
Having your pet spayed or neutered is the most effective way to prevent pregnancies.

There have not been anymore confirmed cases (as of yet), but there have been some sightings of a fox (or more than 1) with unusual behavior within the community. This is another reminder that we need to stay VERY cautious and make sure your pet(s) is/are rabies vaccinated. Call animal control in the event you see anything suspicious at 336-570-6302.

A fox captured near South N.C. 87 Highway and Greensboro Chapel Hill Road in Alamance County tested positive for rabies.

🦝 It's officially Raccoon Summer, and Jimothy has stolen America's heart.
But while we're all obsessed with Seattle's most famous raccoon, it's a good reminder: summer is the time rabies activity increases across the country. As wildlife gets more active this time of year, cases tend to rise in animals like raccoons, bats, skunks, and foxes.
Here's how we help Jimothy, all his wild neighbors, and your family stay safe:
🚫 Admire wildlife from a distance. No petting, no feeding, no cornering them for the perfect video.
📞 See a sick, injured, or wild animal behaving strangely? Don't approach: call your local animal control or wildlife agency.
🐾 Keep pets up to date on rabies vaccines.
Stay wild, stay adorable, stay safe, Jimothy (and every other raccoon out there). 💛
