LMMR mules Misty and Pirate are loaded and headed to their new home in Indiana, where they will join a herd of fellow LMMR mules Woody, Kirby, Rudy, Suds and Rose on a big, beautiful property! 💙

Pirate was surrendered to our Refuge as a feral and ungelded yearling in 2024, with an infected eye and concerning behavioral problems like kicking and rearing up. He has since been gelded, his eye enucleated, and his behavior thoroughly rehabilitated over several months by our Liberty Hill trainer. His path in life has been forever changed for the better thanks to Lost Meadows.

Misty was purchased by LMMR at our local auction in 2025 as an unhandled 5 year old. She has spent several months at two different trainers and has learned all the basics, and most importantly, her trust in people has been repaired. She is also now safe, stress-free and prepared for a long and happy future thanks to Lost Meadows.

Nationwide adoptions give our mules a better chance to find their forever family and are made possible by your support. 4 spots in our training program have finally opened up this month thanks to out-of-state adopters, so stay tuned to see who’s next up in our training program! 💙
