They did it!!🎉🎉 Ben achieved his goal of getting Skye's amateur field champion title (pending AKC confirmation) this weekend at the Southern Kansas Field Trial by winning the AGD stake. Thank you judges Mike Poehler and Richard Beaver for the placement and clubs members for putting on a good but hot trial.

A huge thank you to Burchett Bird Dogs for all the guidance, training help, allowing us to use your horses when we come for visits and most of all your friendship over the years. Sometimes it takes a village, and this was certainly the case with Skye to accomplish this goal.

Thank you to the Iowa Brittany Club especially Lisa Po***ck for a great trial in some rainy conditions and muddy grounds. Thank you to all the judges who braved the muck. Thank you Bob Burchett for training and handling our dogs!

🏎️Sage🏎️ (Campbell’s Chasing My Tail Lights) run by Ben was 4th in Open Puppy a d had a good run with bird finds in derby. I only lost her once while attempting to be his scout.

☀️Skye☀️(DC Warbonnet & Campbell’s Skye’s The Limit JH BCAT) was also in the ribbons placing 3rd in a 39 Open Gun Dog stake with Bob.

If you ever get a chance to run dogs here at the Union County Bird Dog Ranch (in dry weather) these are some great grounds.

Thanks to Matt Weldele, The Droel’s and the Minnesota Brittany Club for putting on a good but wet and very muddy trial this past weekend. Thank you to all the judges and to Burchett Bird Dogs for training and running our dogs.

Our big winner of the weekend was Sage (Campbell’s Chasing My Tail Lights) out of our Louie x Skye litter, bred and owned by us won the Open Puppy stake and placed 4th in Open Derby.

Skye (DC Warbonnet & Campbell's Skye's The Limit JH BCAT VD) put down a nice run with Ben and earned a 2nd place in the Amateur Gun Dog.

Thanks Dawn and Joe for hosting a great dinner at your house. The chocolate fountain and chocolate covered bacon were a big hit.

The first field trail of the fall season is a wrap. Thank you to the Mo Valley Brittany Club for putting on a great trial at Branched Oak Recreation Area. If you never have gotten to run out here the grounds are a whole different cup of tea from the west coast.

Thank you Robbie and Brittany for a great dinner and all the hard work to put the trial on and to all the judges who came out and judged.

Sage (Louie x Skye) ran in her first horseback trial with Ben had a little too much fun and felt the need to run in open puppy. Ben found her about 2 miles off course.🤣 She did better in derby placing 3rd.

Tipsy (Blitz x Riese) run by Bob took 4th in the derby.

Skye handled by Bob in open gun dog had a good run placing 4th behind her son Bubba (Oudi x Skye) won the stake and finished his FC title.

Sadly it was not Riese or Sassy’s weekend in some rainy conditions.
