This is true for me and many others I have worked with.

🐴 The research is straightforward: children with ADHD who participate in equine-assisted activities show measurable improvements in attention, impulse control, and self-regulation — often within weeks of starting. The less obvious question is why.

Part of the answer is the horse itself. Horses are immediate and honest. They respond to what you're doing right now, not what you did five minutes ago. A child who can't sit still at a desk discovers that a horse requires exactly the kind of focused, present-moment attention that medication or therapy is trying to build. The horse becomes a reason to regulate, because the horse makes it clear — gently, without judgment — when the child isn't.

Part of the answer is the body. Riding engages core muscles and balance systems in ways that activate neurological pathways involved in attention. The rhythmic movement of a horse at walk has been shown to affect brain activity in measurable ways.

And part of the answer, honestly, is that it's interesting. A horse is more interesting than a worksheet. A twelve-year-old who is impossible to engage in a classroom will stay focused on a horse for an hour without being asked twice.

Have you seen a horse help a child who was struggling to connect elsewhere?

Happy horses have well fitting saddles!

Why choose Trilogy as your saddle of choice?

A great saddle isn’t just about fit—it’s about creating comfort, balance, and harmony for both horse and rider. That’s exactly what makes Trilogy stand out.

✨ Premium craftsmanship – Trilogy saddles are made from high-quality leather that is soft and supple from day one, while remaining durable enough to withstand years of riding.

✨ Comfort-focused wool panels – Wide, supportive wool panels help distribute pressure evenly and can be adjusted as your horse changes with training, age, and seasons.

✨ Designed for every rider – Trilogy offers multiple models with different twist and seat widths because riders aren’t all built the same. Just as you wouldn’t expect a medium-wide saddle to fit an extra-wide horse comfortably, the same principle applies to riders. Finding the correct twist and seat width can make a remarkable difference in your comfort, balance, and effectiveness in the saddle.

✨ Customized for your horse – Saddles can be ordered with different rear gusset options to achieve the proper balance for your horse’s unique conformation and topline.

✨ Exceptional support – From your first demo ride to ongoing flocking adjustments, Trilogy is committed to educating and supporting riders every step of the way. My goal is to help you find the best possible fit for both you and your horse—not just today, but as your partnership continues to develop.

If you’ve been wondering whether there’s a saddle that can truly support both you and your horse, I’d love to help.

Saddle fit is very important!

One term riders often hear when talking about dressage saddles is “twist.” But what does that actually mean?

The twist refers to the narrowest part of the saddle seat—the area between the rider’s thighs where the saddle passes over the horse’s back. It has a big influence on how a saddle feels to the rider.

Trilogy offers six different dressage saddle models, each designed with varying twist and seat widths to accommodate a wide range of rider shapes and sizes.

The shape of a rider’s pelvis, along with their natural hip angle, plays a significant role in which saddles will feel supportive and secure. When the twist width isn’t suited to the rider, a saddle can quickly become uncomfortable and make it more difficult to sit in balance.

That’s why fitting the rider is just as important as fitting the horse when selecting a dressage saddle. The right combination creates stability, comfort, and better communication between horse and rider.
