Cedarbrook Veterinary Care

Cedarbrook Veterinary Care It's all about the horse! Dr. Hannah Mueller is a 2004 graduate from Oregon State University, College of Veterinary Medicine (view her resume here).

She has loved, cared for, ridden and trained horses for most of her life; horses are her passion. Before becoming a veterinarian, she gained experienced as a veterinary assistant, horse trainer, and farrier. During veterinary school, Dr. Hannah focused on equine sports medicine, lameness and advanced equine dentistry. After graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Hannah worked first as an associate

veterinarian, then in December of 2004, she started what was then known as Evergreen Holistic Veterinary Care - Equine based out of Monroe, WA. Dr. Hannah continued her studies of herbs and physical therapy and became certified in veterinary acupuncture in 2005 and chiropractic in 2006. Dr. Hannah discovered her gift of hands-on healing as she mastered these two modalities. Dr. Hannah strives to provide the best care possible for her patients and believes her unique holistic approach allows her to do so. Dr. Hannah has a solid foundation in sports medicine and lameness. This, along with her training in acupuncture, chiropractic, stretch exercises, massage techniques and other hands on healing modalities, allows Dr. Hannah to rehabilitate horses to their fullest potential. She excels in rehabilitating horses with lameness, neck and back injuries as well horses with pain related behavioral problems. While Dr. Hannah continues to offer farm calls, she has now added a rehabilitation center for haul-in appointments and short or long-term boarding with rehabilitation packages. Dr. Hannah believes in following holistic principles not only in her practice but also in her daily life. She feels that stewardship to animals, the environment, and to her community is a key element of holistic living. She has a driven, passionate desire to make a difference to all the animals in her care. Because of this passion and the need to give back, Dr. Hannah established a non-profit rescue rehabilitation fund with American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) Cedarbrook Fund. She feels this is her way to give back and to be able to look back over the long years of her life and know that she made a difference to equines and made an impact in regards to the humane treatment of animals. Dr. Hannah also enjoys giving talks for Cedarbrook's Educational Series and teaching veterinary and veterinary technician students how to perform veterinary procedures while providing veterinary care and rehabilitation for rescue horses. She enjoys teaching equine yoga and stretch classes as well as bodywork workshops for horses through Cedarbrook Veterinary Care. Dr. Hannah resides in Monroe, Washington with her family as well as her dog, cat and horses. She enjoys hiking, biking and of course, riding.

Update on the now multi-state outbreak of Equine Herpes Myeloencephalopathy (EHM) caused by Equine Herpes Virus-1 (EHV-1) that originated at the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) World Finals and Elite Barrel Race event in Waco, TX on Nov 5th-9th. We now have two cases (non-neurologic at this time thankfully) in Washington state (Spokane County). Below are good resources about EHV and for staying updated. It is recommend to stay home with your horse at this time!

Someone received a 'spoofing' call that appeared to be from our clinic number, even though it wasn't, this afternoon claiming their cat had been hit by a car and was here in emergency surgery and they needed to send $2000 immediately. He had the cats description because their cat went missing yesterday and they had posted it online. They sent him the money before realizing it was a scam. What a terrible thing for someone to do to a family during the loss of a pet! We do not see cats or dogs for western medicine here at Cedarbrook (only acupuncture and chiropractic). If you receive a call similar to this from our clinic number please call me at our clinic number immediately- the call only look like our number on caller ID but he won't get calls that come in to our number. So sorry to the family that this happened to! May you find your lost cat and get your money back! This has been reported to the FCC. Thanks, Dr Hannah

Thinking about everyone out there after the terrifying storm! We are still without power and it could be several days until it is restored, but Tmobile came back on this morning so my phone is working again😅! Sure felt pretty vulnerable during the storm to not have power and then a few hours later not have a working phone or internet as I could hear huge trees crashing down all around… Thankfully I was able to drive into Monroe to get cell service the next morning so I could let clients know our power was out and we were closed for storm cleanup and thankfully no emergency calls were missed while my phone was down. Also thankful for my EV that allowed me to charge my phone and essentials when the power went out!

We are fortunate to have a generator and spent today getting it up and running and getting our fridge and freezer (and house) back on track, watering the horses, and more tree cleanup around the farm. We are so grateful that we didn’t have any major structural damage and that our needs are met with the generator until the power comes back on!

I know many of you are still in the thick of it and some of the tree damage pix I’ve been seeing on FB are heartbreaking! Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help ❤️‍🩹

The Solstice Music and Art Festival is right around the corner! Can't wait! Looks like rain so dress in warm clothes and bring an extra coat- we will move the event into the arena if it's raining so have no fear, the Solstipocolypse they are predicting won't get us! Bring camp chairs if you have them 🙏. The music is going to be amazing- come early so you don't miss anything! And I'm so excited to see the art show! Great time to do some shopping for cool one of a kind gifts🤩. We will be fundraising for Equine Aid Horse and Donkey Rescue and will also encourage donations to support our awesome musicians. 🎉🎉

Season's Greetings!

We wanted to let you know in advance that we will be taking days off from Christmas through the New Year. Our office will be closed from December 22, 2023 through January 1, 2024. During this period, you will still be able to schedule online appointments and leave voicemails. The online appointments won't show accepted until we can confirm them on our return, but their spot will be held.

Dr. Hannah will also be taking this time off to be with her family. She will be off on Christmas day, but will have her scheduled appointments on Tuesday, December 26th. She will respond as able to the emergent voicemails for the remainder of the week. However, if you have not received a response within 30 minutes, or your emergent situation requires immediate response, please call Pilchuck or another back up veterinarian.

We want to make sure you have all your medication needs filled before we take our holiday. Please review if you will need anything from us this week.

We'll be back up to speed and returning all voicemails on January 2nd.

Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a happy New Year!
