That’s a wrap. The 2025–2026 hunting season is pretty much over for me and the boyz — Noonan, Jaeger, and Ogie. What a season! Easily the best one I’ve had in a long time.

I was in the field just about every weekend since October 1 (missed only two), and it paid off. Great bird numbers, lots of mature birds, and some absolute giants. Even better was getting to hunt with a bunch of great people along the way.

Big shout-out to Mike and Scott Etzkorn for helping lock down a spot for my camper and side-by-side. Much appreciated. Already counting the days until next season.

The 2024-2025 hunting season is a wrap! What a season it has been. VC Saddle Rocks Paint it Black “Jaeger “ MHA, RDX, AKC Lifetime Achievement and NSTRA Amateur Champion and VC Ripsnorters Shoot and Miss “Noonan MHA, RDX, Amateur NSTRA champion, and AKC Lifetime Achievement were just awesome to hunt behind. Bird finding machines that find tons of birds, pin them down, back/honor each other, and steady. Both are the complete package.

Table Rock Kennels Ogilthorpe, “Ogie” MA/UT 204 and Bueller “Sharpshooters He’s a Righteous Dude” both hunted hard, worked well in braces, found birds and became seasoned hunters and had an amazing hunting season. Bueller relentless search for down game is absolutely impressive, never quitting a search until the job is done. Looking forward to next season.

Noonan passed the NAVHDA Invitational this week, becoming a Versatile Champion, adding another tittle to his accomplishments. Not only did he earn the title, but in doing so, helped Jeff George, Ripsnorter Kennels became the first kennel to earn an Invitational breeder’s award. Noonan is one of those all around great dogs, a beast in the field and water hunting, a dominant test dog and best of all a lover. Great with people, kids and other dogs. Below are Noonan’s current accomplishments and accolades.

Table Rock Ogilthorpe “Ogie” RDX, pending AKC approval earned his last pass to receive his Master Hunt title. Thank you to Geri Orta and Greg Bauer for all the hard work to get this test going. Thank you to Shaun and Kathy Hall for hosting the event on their great property. Just great hanging and judging with truly amazing people. Also, for my wife Leah that supports all this crazy dog stuff.

Had the opportunity to host an Invitational training day in Washington. Had a group of dedicated folks come from MT, Canada, ID, OR and WA to gather and train for the test. Made a lot of great connections, and I now have a bunch of people and dogs to root for in September. Thank you to all that participated and the great volunteers that helped to support these handlers. Also, a great group of UT handlers joined and Brandon Smith helped support these folks. Great weekend, Great dogs and good friendships made.

This Jaeger x Biscuit pup is looking for a home. Check out Chestnut Ridge Chestnut Ridge Bird Dogs. For my West Coast friends, this pup is on the East Coast, but flying with a pup is not that bad.

The 23-24 hunting season is wrapping up. What a great year I had with the dogs. Ripsnorter's Shoot and Miss "Noonan" UT 1 X 2 (204 and 201), Master Hunter Advanced, RDX (Retriever Dog Excellent) and NSTRA Amateur Champion and VC Saddle Rocks Paint it Black "Jaeger" Master Hunter Advance, RDX, and NSTRA Amateur Champion are just awesome dogs to hunt behind and make me look good. They just are wild bird finding machines. Table Rock's Ogilthorpe "Ogie" RDX and Sharpshooter's He's a righteous dude "Bueller" are really coming into their own and really had a great season. The pics are a summary of a great season with Sharptail, Pheasants, Valley Quail, Huns, Chukars, Scoters, Mallards, Redheads, Ring bills, Teal, Widgen, buffleheads, spoonbills and Sandhill Crane just this year. I am so blessed to have great dogs and wonderful people to hunt with.
