What makes a great Maine C**n starts long before the photo.

We focus on health, temperament, and socialization from the very beginning.

Our breeding cats are DNA tested for SMA and PKDef, with HCM and hip screening also part of our program. Our kittens are raised in our home around children, dogs, and everyday family life, with lots of handling and socialization.

Every kitten is vet checked, and we provide health documentation, lineage information, genetic testing documentation, and a one year genetic and congenital health guarantee.

One of my favorite parts of our setup is the catio.

Our cats have access to a 500+ sqft secure outdoor enclosure with an enclosed gazebo, so they have plenty of room to climb, explore, lounge, watch birds, and just enjoy being outside safely.

It’s such a nice fall morning today that I haven’t seen most of them all morning. They’re all out there enjoying the cool air and soaking up the weather.

We put a lot of thought into enrichment because happy, confident cats need more than just a nice place to sleep. They need space to explore, play, and just be cats.

Salem and Coraline are two beautiful girls with sweet, confident personalities and a love for being close to their people.

We put a lot of care into how our kittens are raised from the very beginning. They grow up in our home around children, dogs, different people, normal household sounds, and everyday activity. We handle them daily and focus heavily on early socialization so they grow into affectionate, confident, well adjusted companions.

Health is just as important to us. Our breeding cats are DNA tested for hereditary conditions that can affect Maine C***s, including SMA and PKDef, and we also incorporate HCM and hip screening into our program. Every kitten is vet checked and goes home with a health certificate and a one year genetic and congenital health guarantee.

Nutrition is another area we take seriously. Our cats are fed a moisture rich homemade diet that includes chicken thighs, hearts, liver, and dehydrated bone. We like keeping plenty of moisture in their diet to support hydration, urinary health, and healthy kidney function.

From road trip buddy to right at home.

Binx made the trip to his forever family and has already settled in beautifully. We love getting updates like these especially seeing him comfortable, playful, and already bonding with his new cat sibling.

Watching our kittens make that transition from our home to theirs is always such a special part of what we do.

🐾 Meet the parents of our current litter, Yue & Iroh 🐾

Yue is our beautiful polydactyl girl, and Iroh is our handsome green eyed boy. Together, they’ve given us such a beautiful litter with wonderful variety and personality.

We’re very intentional about our pairings, with a focus on health, genetics, temperament, and preserving the traits we love so much about Maine C***s.

It’s always special getting to watch a litter grow and seeing little pieces of both parents come through in each kitten.

Nutrition is a big part of how we care for our cats.

We prepare a homemade diet using chicken thighs, chicken hearts, chicken liver, and dehydrated bone, with a strong focus on keeping plenty of natural moisture in their food.

Cats naturally have a low thirst drive, so we like feeding a moisture rich diet to help support hydration, urinary health, and healthy kidney function over time.

Our cats eat about 1.5 pounds a day, so fresh food is a regular part of life around here.

We put a lot of thought into what goes into their bowls because long term health starts with the everyday choices.

We’ve had so many people reaching out lately, so we wanted to take a moment to tell you a little more about Ember’s Pride.

Our goal is simple: raise healthy, confident, affectionate Maine C***s that are truly prepared to become part of a family.

We put a strong focus on genetics and carefully screen our breeding cats for known hereditary conditions, including SMA and PKDef, while also incorporating HCM and hip screening into our program. We’re also thoughtful about genetic diversity and our breeding pairings.

Socialization is just as important to us. Our kittens are raised in our home, handled daily, and grow up around normal household activity, children, dogs, different people, sounds, and routines.

By the time our kittens leave us, our goal is for them to be confident, cuddly, well adjusted, and ready to settle into their new homes with ease.
