We had a pretty special visitor at GB’s Stables recently! 🦅

84 Years ago today, Vonceil Curtis, who fell in love with GB Williams's horses (and then him) married him just two months after their first date. Things on that first date started rocky since Vonceil was late and the horses got away, so GB was none too happy. None the less, the couple spent the next 60 years together never leaving Smyrna, and establishing what is now known as GB's Lake and Stable. From this union they had three wonderful children, Diane, Danny (who oversaw GB's Lake) and Terry Williams (who still oversees GB's Stable) today. I don't think Vonceil could have imagined that nearly a century later, a desire to ride horses would result in one of the last remaining undeveloped land tracts in Cobb County being preserved due to her commitment to this community, her love for her family, and her unending desire to enjoy the love of all things Equestrian. So grateful we get to be here today.

If you were out trail riding around GB’s recently, you may have caught something a little different happening down by the lake. 🤖🌊

Georgia Tech’s Marine Robotics Group has been using the lake to practice as they prepare to represent the United States at the Marine RobotX Challenge in Singapore, November 8–14.

Pretty neat to see this kind of work happening right here on the property.

We’re cheering them on and wishing the team the best of luck in Singapore! 🇺🇸

Girths take a lot of wear, so it's a good habit to check the stitching, elastic, and buckles before riding.
