If you know the back story then you know this is huge progress.... Still a longggg way to go..

I'm a fan of slow work... And I'm a fan of drills.

You have to be slow and correct before you can add speed or you will be fast and sloppy/out of control...

However... With that being said ... I also believe you need to figure this out at home. Not at the horse show. Sometimes you have to push your own limits (mentally & physically) to see what you got.

This team is starting to really click. The pilot is only 12, and he was a rope horse that could run a barrel pattern. She's been doing the sweat equity.... Even though for a 12 year old kid that's not the fun stuff... 😅

She's still wide in her turns, she is still trying to find her hand placement in the turns, using her seat and legs.... But progress isn't always pretty or perfect...

I told them if every ride they improve just 1% they will be 100% better in 100 rides ....

I'm really proud of how far this kid has come, and excited for their summer show season. 🤠🛢️💛

** Also I put two small buckets of water on the first two barrels to make them focus on getting past the barrel before turning... If they knocked the barrel and water over they had to do up and downs. 😁**

Trusting a horse takes a lot of courage from a person, but not as much courage as the horse has trusting in us. 🤠🤎💛
