We are always happy to help the Friends of Homeless Animals RI:

Jackie had her grooming appointment with Groomer Jules this morning. Jules was so patient with her and easily got her face cut whereas I would not even attempt it. And Jackie was such a good girl and was rewarded periodically with a treat. So she now has a nice cool summer cut and will be much more comfortable.
But I am sad to say that Jackie was diagnosed with Cushing's disease yesterday which we have suspected all along since we got her. So now we move to the next step where we will be doing an ultrasound to see if it is pituitary or adrenal and then treat her accordingly.
Eventually, when we have her meds and everything under control and she is feeling better, we will be looking for an adopter for her. But it's going to have to be a very special person who is experienced with Cushing's and willing to take on a Cushing's baby and all that entails. See less

Many of you know that Village Paws is an ambassador to the Friends of Homeless Animals Rhode Island. We offer our grooming services to them for at no charge so that every dog gets the best chance of being adopted.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting and grooming Ms Trixie. Her fosters are Casey and Sue and I have groomed several of their other fosters. FOHRI is so lucky to have such a great community of animal lovers who are willing to foster for them. 🐾💕🐶😊
