Marshall is back home with a social calendar busier than mine šŸ”„šŸ¾

One of the coolest parts of this whole process has been watching him get genuinely excited about going into his crate when the fire tones go off.

Not because heā€™s being forced to.
Not because heā€™s shut down.
But because he understands the job, the routine, and whatā€™s expected of him.

That kind of clarity creates confidence.

And while the crate cue may seem small to some people, moments like this matter ā€” because it means his crew can move quickly and focus on doing important work knowing Marshall is safe, settled, and ready for his part too.

Iā€™ve really loved getting to know this guy and spend time building with him these past few weeks.

Watching his confidence grow and seeing everything start to come together has been an absolute blast.

Marshall took on Lemonpalooza like it was just another day šŸ‹šŸ¾

Kids. Crowds. Food. Music. Bubbles.
A lot of stimulation ā€” and a lot for a young dog to take in.

And he handled it like a gentleman.

Mr. Social Butterfly soaked up the attention
without getting overwhelmed by it ā€”
and when it was over?

Straight into a nap like he earned it šŸ˜“

Thatā€™s the goal.

Not just a dog who listens in a quiet environmentā€¦
but a dog who can go out, experience the world, and feel comfortable in it.

A lot of dogs donā€™t struggle because theyā€™re ā€œbad.ā€
They just havenā€™t been shown how to handle this level of stimulation yet.

Marshallā€™s learning how ā€” and itā€™s been fun to watch it come together.

šŸ¾ Quick scheduling update for Stellar Canine šŸ¾

To keep things running smoothly and make sure the dogs here are getting the best care (and as much quality time out as possible), Iā€™ll be moving to more structured drop-off and pick-up windows.

Weekdays:
AM: 8:30ā€“10:30
PM: 4:00ā€“6:00

Weekends:
AM: 9:00ā€“11:00
PM: 3:00ā€“5:00

These windows help me stay fully present with the dogs instead of being pulled away throughout the day.

If youā€™re a current client, Iā€™ll just ask that you plan for and communicate a specific time within those windows so everything flows smoothly!

I know this is a bit of a shift, but it allows me to keep things consistent for all of the dogs in my care ā€” which is always the goal.

Yetiā€™s story is a good reminder that training isnā€™t about perfection ā€” itā€™s about building something that works in your real life.

Every dog and every family is different.
What matters isnā€™t checking boxes ā€” itā€™s solving the problems that actually impact your day-to-day.

Thatā€™s why I donā€™t believe in one-size-fits-all training.

I meet the dog in front of me.
I meet the family where they are.
And we build from there.

Iā€™m really grateful Yetiā€™s family trusted me with him ā€” because of that, his world has opened up in a big way.

More freedom.
More experiences.
More time doing the things he loves safely.

Because when training is done right,
it doesnā€™t just change behavior ā€”

If we canā€™t come to terms with the fact that our dogs are not human, weā€™re going to struggle to communicate with them.

Marlie is a German Shepherd.

She isnā€™t meant to be overly social with everything that moves.
She isnā€™t meant to be chaotic.
And sheā€™s definitely not meant to be shut down.

Sheā€™s meant to be aware.
Clear-headed. Neutral but observant.

Because sheā€™s a different species.

Different strengths.
Different needs.
Different priorities.
Different ways of thinking.
Different ways of seeking affection.
Different ways of feeling safe.

A good GSD isnā€™t a circus act. And sheā€™s not a nervous wreck in public.

She can hold place.
She can learn the slat mill.
She can move through the world without reacting to every sound or person.
She can calmly interact other dogs.

Not because we treat her like a human ā€”
but because we respect what she was bred to be (& the awesome genetics she has behind her).

Dogs donā€™t need us to humanize them.
They need us to understand them.

When we honor their genetics, their drives, and their wiring, communication gets clearer. Expectations make sense.
And neutrality becomes the goal.

Neutral but aware.
Thatā€™s what an awesome shepherd looks like. šŸ¾

Choosing a dog trainer isnā€™t about finding the ā€œbestā€ one on the internet.
Itā€™s about finding the right one for you and your dog.

These are some of the questions I believe every owner should ask ā€” even if you donā€™t end up working with me.

Because good training isnā€™t about flashy credentials or quick fixes.
Itā€™s about experience, continued education, honesty, and what happens after the sessions end.

Your dog deserves someone who understands behavior, not just obedience.
And you deserve support that lasts longer than a program timeline.

If youā€™re unsure what to look for ā€” or want help figuring out what kind of support would actually help ā€” Iā€™m always happy to talk it through.

Training should feel collaborative, not confusing. šŸ¾
