Good Morning my AHHHMAZING Spotters!
Stryker here back from a busy show filled weekend from Beavers Falls PA. We took the leap and drove 14.5 hours one way to Beaver Falls PA. Hoping to to possibly get the last "Major" and 5 points total that we needed to finish off my Champion title. Well needless to say our trip started off Rock with a curfuffle trying to check into out hotel room. Finally we were able to get some sleep once we were able to get our room it was close to almost midnight. Well we were ready Friday morning with loads of confidence we walked in that ring like a million bucks.. until I decided my belly was upset and proceeded to be sick in the ring... did I mention it was when the judge was coming to me for inspection 🤦♀️ So in typical mom fashion she panicked, confidence drained, and mortified.. she pulled poo bags from what seemed like... EVERYWHERE.. 1 in the pocket 2 in the right shoe.. 2 in the left shoe.. prepared was an understatement. I must say this show did have some of the NICEST people! Everyone ringside was trying to pass me paper towels, took care of my full poo bags, and reassured me that *hit happens and its ok! Honestly I can NOT TELL you how much that truly meant to me having people who didn't know us from Adam step up to help out the clearly distraught girl in the ring. They welcomed us with huge open arms which was also a huge breath of fresh air. Moving on to Saturday we also didn't get any love from the judge however we kept our breakfast down which was a bigger plus 😂😂🤦♀️ Sunday we thought was gonna be our day. We get in the ring we go around and the judge decides he would like to Wicket us because he looks big. I can contest he is a solid boy at 65lb and long legs. But... there goes the confidence, I go from we got this to.. omg everyone is now staring at me and we are the sole reason right now that the ring is held up 🤦♀️🫠 after what felt like an hour.. I swear it was only maybe 5 minutes.. we were measured to double check that he was still in standard and 24" or under... and to inquiring minds the answer is still YES he is! However even though he was in standard he just wasn't what this judge was looking for and we didn't come home with any points. Oh well! As a really great handler ring side said. Some times you win and sometimes you lose. This is a game and you don't always win the game everytime you play. And shes right we are all playing this game with hopes our dog is the right puzzle peice for today. Sometimes you are Sometimes your not. However as we were driving home our long tedious drive, I got to thinking we did win this weekend. Might not have been for the judges, And maybe we didn't get points.. but we did gain friendships and laughter with people who already made us feel welcome. That alone is the biggest win of all! Thank you to all the exhibitors, judges and just ring side people who made us feel like we actually belonged we appreciate your niceness, and genuine love for the breed.
We did come home to some Mail from AKC for both me and My dad! We finally have our BCat titles from Fast Cat!
