🎃🍬 Halloween isn't here yet, but the candy is already coming in! 🐾
With Halloween parties, school events, and trick-or-treat celebrations already starting, sweet treats are making their way into our homes! 🍫🍭
But what’s sweet for us can be dangerous for our furry family members! 🐶🐱
⚠️ A few things to watch out for:
🍫 Chocolate: Toxic to dogs and cats and can cause serious health problems.
🍬 Xylitol: Found in some sugar-free candies and gum. Extremely dangerous for dogs, even in small amounts!
🍭 Sugary treats: Can cause digestive upset and other health issues.
🎃 Candy wrappers: Can become choking hazards or cause intestinal blockages.
❤️ A little prevention goes a long way!
Keep Halloween candy in a secure place, remind your kids not to share their treats with pets, and always check for dropped candy.
🚨 If your pet gets into Halloween candy, contact your veterinarian or an animal poison control service immediately. Don't wait for symptoms!
At Caring Heart Animal Hospital, we're here to help keep your furry family members safe, healthy, and happy! ❤️🐾
