A rescued pig grunting hello and a goat nibbling your sleeve like an old friend beats any crowded Oregon attraction. Seven sanctuaries across the state open their gates so you meet these second-chance animals face to face, and most travelers drive right past every one of them.

Welcome to the farm Koah. BLM burro Koah came to us from Safe Acres Animal Sanctuary. With 8 other burros, Koah was brought to Safe Acres for gentling and eventually, adoption. With support from Anna Twinney and The Way of the Equine Warrior, Koah and his herd mates were introduced to life with humans and given names and agency to determine their own paths. He is the sweetest boy with the gentlest of spirits. We are looking forward to getting to know him and encouraging his development.
