As the flags were raised this morning at Roxi & Co, our hearts are heavy.
25 years.
Today, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the first responders who ran toward danger without hesitation.
We remember the search and rescue dogs who worked tirelessly beside their handlers, climbing through rubble, searching, serving, and bringing comfort during some of the darkest days our country has ever known.
And we remember what happened in the days that followed.
American flags seemed to hang from every porch and every window. Neighbors checked on neighbors. Strangers helped strangers. People stood a little closer, loved a little harder, and remembered that no matter our differences, we were still one country.
There was a sense of togetherness that is hard to put into words. We were hurting, but we were hurting together.
We would never wish for another September 11th. Never.
But we do remember the love, compassion, patriotism, and unity that followed it. We remember what it felt like to look out for one another. We remember how quickly “me” became “us.”
Today, we honor every life lost, every family forever changed, every first responder, every search and rescue team, and every four-legged hero who served.
25 years later, we still remember.
And we will never forget. ❤️🤍💙
