🐾 Vet Tech Week: Hobby Thursday! 🐾

We spend a lot of time getting to know our team as veterinary professionals, but what do they enjoy doing when they’re not at the clinic? 💚

Today, we're giving you a little peek into our staff's lives outside of veterinary medicine! From hobbies and creative projects to outdoor adventures and relaxing at home, everyone has their own way of spending their free time. ✨

We asked our team, “What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at the clinic?” and we're sharing their answers with you!

Take a look and get to know the people behind the scrubs a little better. You might discover a new hobby, a shared interest, or something about our team you never knew! 🐶🐱🦎

🐾 Vet Tech Week: Would You Rather Wednesday! 🐾

It's time to put our staff to the test with a little veterinary edition of Would You Rather! 🩺💚

Today's question: Would you rather work with cats and dogs for a year, or work with exotics and pocket pets for a year?🐶🐱🦎🐹

We asked our team to make the tough choice, and now we're sharing their answers! Some decisions are harder than others when you love working with animals of all shapes and sizes. 😉

Check out what our Vital Animal team had to say and see which side everyone landed on! 🐾

Abby, RVT: "Exotics are my passion!"
Lee: "Cats and dogs"
Kisha: "Cats and dogs"
Arik: "Cats and dogs. Part of the reason exotics are so cool is because they're exotics! I want to keep that excitement when they come in."
Charlie: "Exotics/pocket pets, I like seeing them! But I want to get better with them like handling, general care, and giving/ dosing medication"
Mary: "Only exotics and pocket pets"

🐾 Vet Tech Week: Story Time Sunday! 🐾

Every veterinary team has stories to tell! From funny moments and unforgettable patients to the little things that make each day special, there’s always a story behind the work we do. 💚

For today's Vet Tech Week spotlight, we asked our staff to share some of their favorite memories and stories from their time in veterinary medicine! 🩺🐶🐱

Take a moment to read their answers, get to know the faces behind your pets' care, and maybe share a laugh or two with us!

Abby, RVT: "When I was organizing and found several computer mice. I put them all in a box and told Dr. Lisa we has a mouse problem. Lol"
Lee: "I took a hamster out of the kennel to have Dr. Lisa take a look at the patient. When Dr. Lisa walked by and noticed the open kennel she thought the patient escaped."
Kisha: "I was in reception and the air was on and very cold, a co-worker and I agreed I should stand on the desk and cover the vent. The desk wasn't anchored yet and when I stood up on it the computer, all supplies, and myself came crashing down."
Arik: "Any of the times Charlie screams because they're startled by a guinea pig (and I'm not the one trimming nails)"
Charlie: "Helping Lucky (clinic cat) lose weight ❤"
Mary: "Watching my daughter's eyes light up during her first kite flying adventure for Pride Month."

A huge thank-you to our amazing team for the compassion, dedication, and heart they bring to the clinic every day. We’re so lucky to have you! 💚

Today is National Pet Obesity Awareness Day, a reminder that maintaining a healthy weight is one of the most important things we can do for our pets. Excess weight can increase the risk of arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, respiratory issues, and can even shorten a pet's lifespan.

Not sure if your pet is at a healthy weight? We've shared the Body Condition Score (BCS) chart from the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention to help you evaluate your pet at home. Keep in mind that every pet is different, and our team is always happy to help assess your pet's weight and develop a plan to keep them healthy and active.

A few extra treats may seem harmless, but small changes can make a big difference in your pet's long-term health. Take a look at the chart, and let us know if you have any questions!
