There’s something special about being welcomed into the lives of pets while their families are away. I got to spend a long weekend with these five beautiful souls, and somewhere between the big storm, the intense heat, and our quiet moments together, they found a place in my heart. Caring for them was a privilege, and saying goodbye was harder than I expected.

I visited my pal, Murphy, for a potty break and decided that since I’m confident I can outrun him if I needed to, I’d let him just sniff and wander without a harness or leash. It made my heart happy and just look at Murphy’s smile. I love my “job!”
