A Cane Corso… who lives with a bunch of Yorkies. 😂
Yep. That’s Reina.

But as funny as that household dynamic is, Reina’s story is actually a pretty big one.

When we first met her, handling was hard. Putting equipment on her, getting into her space, or touching her in certain ways could make her extremely uncomfortable. It was fear-based, but it was getting to the point where everyday handling was becoming a serious concern.

She had even reached a point where another facility wasn’t comfortable boarding her because they couldn’t safely get equipment on and off of her.

And that meant something bigger than just a “dog training problem.”

It meant her family couldn’t simply go out of town and know they had somewhere safe to leave her. Outings were harder. Everyday situations came with more stress. Their world with Reina was starting to get smaller.

Now look at her. 🥹

Reina is going to the park with her family. Her owners have the skills and confidence to handle her. Our team can safely work with her. She can board with us. And she’ll continue getting out into the world through things like Social Club.

This is exactly what we mean when we talk about people-first dog training.

Of course we want to help the dog. But we’re also looking at the humans on the other end of the leash and asking: How can training make their life better, too?

Sometimes the win isn’t a prettier sit or a longer down-stay.

Sometimes the win is being able to take your dog somewhere without worrying the entire time.

Sometimes it’s finally being able to go on vacation because you have a safe place for your dog to stay.

Sometimes it’s simply getting more of your life back.

And while Reina has had an entire team cheering her on, a huge amount of the credit belongs to Caitlin Marie St Germain , who trained Reina and put so much work into helping both her and her family get to this point. ❤️ We’re incredibly proud of what they’ve accomplished together.

And now Reina can get back to her other very important job:

Head of security for the Yorkie committee. 😂

Thanks to everyone who came out for Social Club today! 🐾 You all did an awesome job with today’s activity!

For those new here, Social Club is a chance for our training clients to practice their skills around other dogs and real-world distractions while having some fun along the way.

🎓 Lola graduated! ❤️🐾

Five weeks ago, Lola came to us fearful, flighty, and considered a bite risk. A muzzle was part of keeping everyone safe while we learned how to communicate with her and helped her learn how to navigate the world with a little more confidence.

Today, she graduated our 5-Week Day Train Program. 🎉

But we want to be clear about something: we aren’t miracle workers, and we aren’t dog whisperers.

Five weeks doesn’t magically “fix” a dog, and that isn’t what we promise.

We’re people-first trainers.

Our job is to understand the dog in front of us, figure out how to communicate with that individual dog, and then give their owners the knowledge, skills, and tools they need to continue moving forward long after graduation.

Because whether your dog is fearful, reactive, overexcited, stubborn, or simply needs better manners, lasting change doesn’t come from a trainer doing something magical behind closed doors.

It comes from better communication between you and your dog.

Lola has made some incredible progress over the last five weeks, and now her family has a much stronger foundation to continue building on. ❤️

We are so proud of you, Lola! 🎓🐾

Honey understood the assignment ☺️❤️

After a full day of training, exploring, working her brain, and having some fun, this was the update we got from her family:

“Exhausted! Thanks for another good day!”

We’ll take that as a win. 😂🐾💤

Meet Azalea and Her Little Garden Crew 🌹🌷🐾

We are excited to introduce Rose, Tulip, Duffy, and Poe, four adorable foster kittens who are looking for their forever homes!

Photo note: The backgrounds in these photos were digitally edited to create cleaner profile pictures, but the cats pictured are our real foster cats.

We estimate the kittens are approximately 10–12 weeks old, although we are still learning more about them. They are currently being kept safely indoors and are receiving flea and tick prevention, deworming, and plenty of care and socialization. Each kitten will also be spayed or neutered before going to a new home.

We are still getting to know their individual personalities, but they are already beginning to show us what makes each of them special. We will share more about their personalities as they continue to settle in!

Their beautiful mama, Azalea, is also pictured. Our current plan is for Azalea to remain with us as a barn cat once she has had time to rest, recover from motherhood, and receive all of her veterinary care. She is currently living indoors with her kittens while she receives flea prevention, deworming, and prepares to be spayed so she never has to raise another litter.

That being said, Azalea is a wonderful cat who could also make a great indoor or indoor-outdoor companion. We would be open to finding her a loving home if the right person comes along.

📍 Located in the Simpsonville/Greenville, SC area.

Please send me a message if you are seriously interested in adopting Rose, Tulip, Duffy, Poe, or possibly Azalea. Feel free to share this post so we can help each of them find the perfect home! 💕

A small shift that can make a big difference at home 🐾

A lot of people leave toys out all day for their dog, and honestly, it makes sense. It feels like you’re giving them more to do.

But in reality, when toys are always available, they lose their value pretty quickly.

Instead, try this: Bring toys out during intentional play, and put them away when you’re done.

It makes playtime more exciting, builds engagement with you, and adds structure to your dog’s day without overcomplicating things.

At Complete K-9, this is exactly the kind of thing we focus on from the very beginning.

Before we ever get into obedience or advanced training, we’re helping owners create better structure at home, because structure is what everything else is built on.

Small habits like this make a big difference 🐾

Most people think reactivity is aggression… but a lot of the time it’s just a lack of confidence.

This is Loki learning how to slow down, think, and exist around real-world distractions 🌿🐕

Small wins → big changes.

You’ll see me using a clicker here — but you don’t need one. A simple “yes” marker works just as well 👍

🐣🌸 Happy Easter from all of us at Complete K-9! 🌸🐣

Featuring Miss Olive… and yes, she knows she’s cute. 😄

But Easter isn’t just about the photos (even though this one deserves a frame). It’s about new beginnings—and that applies to our dogs just as much as it does to us.

Every day we work with dogs, we see the same thing: Dogs don’t hold onto yesterday.

They don’t care that they pulled on the leash last week.

They don’t dwell on the moment they got it wrong.

They wake up ready to try again… every single time.

That’s something we can all learn from.

Whether your dog is just getting started, working through challenges, or already crushing it—progress happens when we show up consistently, communicate clearly, and give them the chance to succeed.

Olive didn’t become this calm, confident, photogenic superstar by accident… it’s the result of structure, guidance, and a whole lot of teamwork between dog and owner.

So today, while you’re celebrating, here’s your reminder:
✨ It’s never too late to start fresh
✨ Small wins matter
✨ And your dog is always ready to meet you where you are

We’re grateful for every single one of you who trust us with your dogs and your journey.

Enjoy your Easter, give your dog an extra treat (or two 😉), and we’ll see you back at it soon.
