All this rain and warm weather can mean one thing in the yard… mushrooms everywhere. 🍄

While many mushrooms are harmless, some can be very dangerous for pets—and unfortunately, your dog probably isn't qualified to tell the difference.

🐾 Keep an eye on your yard and remove mushrooms when you see them.
🐾 Don't let your dog eat mushrooms while you're out walking or hiking.
🐾 If you think your pet ate one, take a picture of the mushroom if you safely can and give us a call.

When in doubt, assume yard snacks are not on the menu.

Northwest Naturals of Portland, Oregon is voluntarily recalling 53 cases (1,272 lbs.) of Northwest Naturals Frozen Chicken Recipe (cat food 2 lbs. bag) and 19 cases (684 lbs.) of Northwest Naturals Frozen Raw Diet for Dogs Chicken Recipe (6 lbs. bag) in the two lots identified due to Salmonella and

🐱 Cat owners, we need to talk about THE CARRIER. 😂

If your cat only sees their carrier five minutes before a trip to the veterinarian, they've learned one thing:

🚨 BOX OF BETRAYAL. ABORT MISSION. 🚨

Try leaving the carrier out at home with the door open. Add a favorite blanket, treats, or toys and let it become part of their normal environment.

Making the carrier less scary at home can make getting to the vet a little easier for everyone — including the human who currently needs three Band-Aids. 😹

Recall on a couple of Fromm canned dog foods.

August 21, 2026, FROMM FAMILY FOODS of MEQUON, Wisconsin is recalling 3,852 cases of Fromm Turkey Pâté Wet canned dog food and 1,973 cases of Fromm Diner Classics Milo's Meatloaf Pâté Wet canned dog food due to potential metal contamination.

🐶🐱 “They’re just getting older…” Maybe. But maybe not!

Slowing down, sleeping more, hesitating before jumping, losing weight, drinking more, having accidents, or becoming less social can sometimes be blamed on age when there may actually be a medical reason behind the change.

Getting older is inevitable. Feeling lousy doesn’t have to be. 💙

If something about your senior pet seems different, tell us — even if it feels small.

🐾 “Why do you need to know THAT?” 🐾

Sometimes the questions we ask during your pet’s visit may seem completely unrelated to why you’re here — but there’s usually a reason!

Has their appetite changed? Drinking more? Any vomiting or diarrhea? New medications or supplements? Changes at home?

Even the little details can help your veterinary team put the pieces together. Your pet can’t tell us what feels different, so you are an important part of their medical team! 💙

And yes… sometimes we really do need to know exactly what their p**p looked like. 😂💩
