I do say met a little loosely 👀

They’ve “met” every single day she’s been home. She could smell him as soon as she got here. She saw him walk by from her crate. She tethered, played, trained with him in the background. She’s relaxed in the same room. We’ve spent time outside in our own personal bubbles. The natural drive-by sniffs & move on have happened.

Lincoln was here first. He’s put in allllll the years of hard work. He deserves to feel unpressured by a new dog in HIS home.

This is our first extended, less structured, closer proximity interaction and just how I wanted it to go 💕 things are already GOOD just like this! Then it only gets better with time 🫶🏼

Anyone else feeling the no music in the background vibe?!

The leash is my direct line of communication to you right now when you don’t know much about this world quite yet, or how things are going to operate in OUR home. I’m not into trying to leverage my voice or resorting to bribery for things. Limiting your freedom and options right now is healthy for your development. I love that it means you get more than comfy wearing a leash, and understand leash pressure from the start. I’m also alllll for your safety too 💯

Sorry girly your brother isn’t a fan of puppies and never really has been! And that’s okay! You’ll have to earn his company by learning to respect that boundary too. It’s not fair to expect him to tolerate your puppy shenanigans in his face! We’ll practice lots of calm time & neutrality around each other for a while first 🫶🏼

You’re doing an amazing job on the potty training side of things.. but I don’t full trust you yet 🤣 plus setting a boundary around the stair threshold is something we will be doing anyways! You’ll need permission to go up & downstairs. Limiting your access and slowly introducing you to spaces will be less overwhelming too. I’ll be excited to explore it with you soon 🗺️

The more options I give you at a time, the more your brain hops from one thing to next, the more easily you get bored with what you have, and the more I have to keep an eye on for safety too. Interactive toys are saved for hands-on play time WITH me, and chew time is supervised always 🦴 they go up out of reach when we’re done!

Shhhh, you don’t really know the difference! Part of your meals are earned & used for active training. We’re making your normal everyday food FUN, ensuring you don’t eat too much, and not encouraging picky eating 🤫

BUT! The food I’m feeding you is an experience. It’s meant to keep you intrigued, prioritize your longterm health, and create a strong gut. I’m not feeding you the same thing for every meal for the rest of your life girlie. And yes, you will be channeling your little wolf-y self and eating raw too🥩

The number of times Owner Sessions have felt a little bit like a therapy session 👀🥹❤️‍🩹

Not that I’m here to BE your therapist, but I’m happy to encourage the observations and realizations you have about how this impacts life beyond your dog while we’re on your training journey 🫶🏼

While back home the dogs (both personal & client) are mainly my responsibility, Austin doesn’t take a back seat or stay blind to the work I’m doing with them. He asks to be on board and how he can help support & maintain my goals & theirs. He knows the value WE provide when we’re on the same page about boundaries, expectations, and routines. When we are both consistent, predictable leaders in their lives, our home flourishes.

There’s a lot I did right with Lincoln as a puppy, and there’s a lot I could have done better 🫶🏼

Taking the pressure off, going with the flow, and not rushing to the finish line is my goal with Summer 💖 while also teaching her how to live a cohesive life with us along the way. You can be firm & soft. You can have boundaries and have fun. You can have big goals and understand there’s a lot of little ones to reach first ✨ both can be true.

Forever grateful Lincoln is my first and allowed me to learn a lot of life lessons while we grew together. Summer has Linc to thank for my new perspective 🤍 (and all of your dogs too who have taught me to be the trainer & owner I am today)!

Because maybe the surprise puppy, the dog because your dog needed a friend, the dog in the midst of travels, the post-break up dog, the dog in the middle of financial strain, the dog because they were cute & we got excited… wasn’t the best for everyone 🫶🏼

Wisdom is a crucial part of every decision we make in life. Dogs are one of those 🤍
