๐พ It's kitten season! During the spring and summer months, shelters and rescues see a significant increase in kittens needing care. Some may become separated from their mothers, orphaned, injured, or brought in by concerned community members.
If you find a kitten alone, don't assume they've been abandoned. Mom may be nearby and still caring for them.
Here's what to do:
๐ Check
Observe from a distance and look for signs that Mom returns.
๐ Keep Safe
If the kitten is sick, injured, or in immediate danger, move them somewhere warm and secure.
๐ Get Help
Contact a local rescue, shelter, or veterinarian for guidance.
๐ Support
Whether it's monitoring the situation, fostering, donating, volunteering, or helping connect a kitten with resources, your support can make a difference.
A few minutes of observation can help ensure kittens get the care they need while giving them the best chance to stay with their mother whenever possible.
