This National Veterinary Technician Week, we're celebrating the incredible Associates who make our hospitals thrive — like Karen, who began as a CSR and never stopped growing and like Joanne, who sought mentorship and support to obtain her VTNE.

At VCA, we're proud to champion our veterinary technicians every step of the way — offering mentorship, encouragement, and the resources to help you reach your full potential.

To every vet tech in our VCA family: thank you. What you do matters deeply — to our teams, to our patients, and to the pet owners who trust us with their most beloved companions.

Every surgery starts long before the first incision. It starts with a veterinary technician who has spent years mastering their skills, anticipating needs, monitoring vitals, and showing up fully prepared for every patient who comes through the door.

Vet techs are the heart of every OR team, and their skill and dedication make a difference every single day. At some VCA specialty hospitals, we take surgical collaboration even further. Some of our teams include Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) — professionals who earned specialized degrees specifically to support surgeons in the OR.

The result? Less time under anesthesia. Better outcomes. And a team that truly works as one. 💙

Because every patient is somebody's pet — and they deserve nothing less than the best.

🇺🇸🎆 Happy Fourth of July from all of us! 🎆🇺🇸

As we celebrate with family, friends, barbecues, and fireworks, don't forget that the holiday can be stressful—and even dangerous—for our pets.

Keep your furry family members safe by:
🐾 Keeping pets indoors during fireworks
🐾 Making sure collars, ID tags, and microchip information are up to date
🐾 Providing a quiet, comfortable space away from the noise
🐾 Keeping holiday foods, alcohol, and glow sticks out of reach
🐾 Never bringing pets to fireworks displays

While we enjoy the festivities, our pets count on us to help them feel safe and secure.

Wishing you and your pets a fun, safe, and happy Fourth of July! ❤️💙🐶🐱

Share a photo of your patriotic pet in the comments—we'd love to see how your furry friends are celebrating! 🇺🇸🐾

🐾⚠️ Pet Choking Prevention Day ⚠️🐾

Did you know that everyday items can become choking hazards for our pets?

Today is a great reminder to take a look around your home and help keep your furry family members safe by:
✅ Supervising pets with toys and chews
✅ Choosing appropriately sized treats and toys
✅ Keeping socks, bones, rawhides, string, and small household items out of reach
✅ Monitoring pets while they eat, especially if they tend to gulp their food
✅ Replacing damaged toys that could break into smaller pieces

Signs that your pet may be choking include:
🚨 Pawing at the mouth
🚨 Difficulty breathing
🚨 Excessive drooling
🚨 Gagging or coughing
🚨 Blue or pale gums
🚨 Panic or distress

If you suspect your pet is choking, seek veterinary care immediately.

A few simple precautions can help prevent a frightening emergency and keep your pet safe, healthy, and happy. ❤️🐶🐱

💙 Happy National Best Friends Day! 💙

Today we’re celebrating all the best friends who make life better—both two-legged and four-legged.

Best friends are the ones who:
🐾 Greet you like you’ve been gone for years (even if it was just 5 minutes)
🐾 Sit with you on your best days and your hardest days
🐾 Don’t care how you look, what you’re wearing, or how your day went
🐾 Always know when you need a little extra love

For many of us, those best friends have paws, whiskers, wagging tails, or soft purrs—and they love us in the most loyal, uncomplicated way.

So today, give your best friend an extra hug, a treat, a walk, or just a little more time together. They deserve it.

💙 Happy National Best Friends Day to all the friends—human and animal—who make life brighter just by being in it.
