UPDATE: Wow! My community is amazing! I have a place for Dixie to go! Thank you friends 🎉

Anyone local want to borrow a Golden Girl for a week? 🐾

Dottie’s puppies are arriving next week, and with Metztli settling into motherhood, our original plan to keep both litters in one room just isn’t going to work!

So Dixie, our sweet, retired matriarch, needs a little vacation! Think Golden Retriever sleepover with zero long-term commitment. She’s house-trained, gentle, low-maintenance, and happiest getting love and finding a cozy spot to nap.

Interested in hosting her for a week? Send me a message!

Fair warning: you might not want to give her back!

You’d be helping our family tremendously as we welcome our newest puppies. ❤️

People often ask me, “How long have you been breeding dogs?”

Well, I’m a THIRD-GENERATION BREEDER. 🐾

My grandmother bred toy poodles. My parents bred Golden Retrievers. And in 1993, at just 9 years old, I delivered my very first puppy and fell in love with what would become a lifelong passion. ❤️

Decades later, I’m still doing what I love: raising Golden Retrievers and bringing joy to families from Washington to Arizona, South Carolina to Ontario, Canada, and everywhere in between.

My waitlist continues to grow with families patiently and excitedly waiting to welcome a puppy into their homes!

Thank you for trusting me with raising your next furry family member. I don’t take that responsibility lightly. It is a tremendous honor to be part of your family’s story.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your family’s story. It is an honor to raise your next furry family member, and one I will never take for granted.

Three generations. Decades of experience. A lifetime of loving dogs. And I still get just as excited about the puppies as I did when I was nine!

🤍 A little piece of forever. 🤍

One of the things I send home with each of my Simply Golden families is a special Christmas ornament to remember the puppy who changed their world. 🎄🐾

In the past, I’ve tried to keep these a secret because I LOVE a good surprise! But if you’re one of my 49 families on the waitlist… SPOILER ALERT! You’ll just have to act surprised when your time comes!

This one is different, though. This is Iris’s. Her one-day-old paw print and the tiny collar she was supposed to grow into. The collar she never got the chance to wear because she was just too tiny. 💔

I never imagined I’d be making an ornament for a puppy who wouldn’t get to go home with her family. But here I am, finding a way to hold on to a little piece of her. This one is for my tree this year.

She was only here for 49 hours, but she was loved for her whole lifetime. Her tiny paw print is a reminder that a life doesn’t have to be long to leave an everlasting mark. Iris will always be a part of our story, and now we have one more little piece of her to hold onto forever. 🥹🤍

Introducing the rest of my little flower bed! 🤎💙💛

🤎 Hawthorn “Thor” 💙 Cosmo 💛 Buttercup

This is the sweetest, smallest litter I’ve ever had, and I’m thankful beyond words for each of these little lives. 🥹❤️ After a very long 5 days that have held more emotions than I can put into words, I don’t take their health, their little personalities, or the joy they’ll one day bring to their future families for granted.

These three are already so deeply loved, and I can’t wait to watch them grow into the beautiful Goldens they’re meant to be. 🌼🐾

Our sweet Iris was only here for 49 hours and 21 minutes, and somehow, in that impossibly short time, she found a permanent place in our hearts. 💔

Her little life was so deeply wanted, so endlessly fought for, and so fiercely loved. Every tiny breath mattered. Every hour was precious. And every moment, we did everything we could to help her stay.

I held her in my hands for her very first breath, and we held her again for her very last. There is something so unbearably heartbreaking about being there for both.

I don’t have answers today. Just a broken heart and a faith that is holding on.

I can trust God and still ache for this pup. I can believe she is safe in His hands and still wish desperately that she were in mine.

We didn’t get to keep her, but we got to love her. And oh, how we loved her.

Somehow, knowing I wasn’t alone in praying for her, rooting for her, and hoping with everything in me that she would pull through makes her loss a little more bearable. Thank you to everyone who stopped to comment, who paused to pray, who called and texted, and who loved our Iris from afar. You may never know how much it meant to have so many people carrying hope for our little pup alongside us. Thank you for loving her with us. 🤍

“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

May this promise hold all of us who are hurting today. 🤍

UPDATE 💔😔
Our sweet Iris has passed away in the night while we held her in our arms. She was with us for 49 hours and 21 minutes, and she was deeply loved, fiercely wanted and desperately fought for. Thank you to everyone who prayed for her, cheered her on, and loved her from afar. We are heartbroken, but we are so grateful she had so many people rooting for her little life. 🤍

Please keep praying for our sweet Iris girl. She is having a really hard evening, and my heart is breaking in ways I can’t put into words.

I feel like I’m walking through the dark night of my soul. Tonight, all I can do is cling to Jesus and whisper, “Please, Lord. Be near.”

Jesus, please wrap Your hands around this tiny 8-ounce life. She is so little, but the weight of loving her, fighting for her, and desperately wanting her to be okay feels almost too heavy to carry tonight. Please lend us Your strength when ours is gone. 🤍

We need your prayers tonight. 🙏🏻

“Sorrow may last for the night, but joy comes in the morning.” 🤍

This is the promise I’m holding onto. So thankful for new mercies, fresh hope, and another morning with our sweet Iris. 🥹🙏🏻

This tiny girl has more fight in her little body than you can imagine. She doesn’t know she’s small, and she certainly doesn’t act like it! Now we just need to get some weight on those tiny bones and watch her grow. One feeding, one ounce, one day at a time. 💕

In this video, those funny air bubble sucking sounds are coming from her giant chunky-monkey brother, Thor, who was only half latched one teat over. 😂 But listen closely, and you can hear our tiny Iris making her own little noises as she learns to suck with ALL her might. 🥹😭🤍 Those little sounds mean so much!

I believe in this girl, and I can’t wait to watch her story unfold. Keep cheering, friends. Our Iris has some growing to do! 🐾💕

🤍 A LITTLE UPDATE ON OUR IRIS 🤍

She might be tiny, but she is MIGHTY. And she has absolutely no idea she’s any different from her brothers and sister.

After the tears, the fear, and so many prayers on the night she was born, we are now rejoicing for all the little wins! Iris is healthy in every other way. She is absolutely perfect. We are SO incredibly thankful.

For now, we stay the course. Tube feedings every 4 hours, working to help her latch every time we go into the puppy room, and celebrating every little victory. One feeding, one prayer, one ounce at a time.

Please keep praying for our girl. You have no idea what every single prayer means to our family. And somehow, this tiny little puppy has an entire world of people cheering her on, praying for her, and loving her from afar. If only she knew how many hearts are wrapped around her already. 😭

Little Iris, you are SO loved. Keep fighting, sweet girl. We’re all in your corner. 🤍🐾

Stay tuned and I will be introducing the rest of the litter to you later today! 💙💙🩷🩷

Meet Iris. She’s tiny, she’s mighty, and she’s already teaching us that sometimes progress comes one ounce at a time. 🥹🐾

There are some pretty crazy skills that come with being a responsible breeder, and tube feeding tiny newborn puppies is definitely one of them! It’s amazing how many times my nursing degree has come into play throughout my breeding journey. You never know when those skills are going to be needed!

Sweet little Iris has taken to tube feeding like a champ, and she’s already gained a tiny bit of weight! 🥹 And then, this afternoon, we witnessed something that felt nothing short of magical…

SHE LATCHED! 🙌🏼

For a few minutes between tube feedings, she latched on and nursed. Last night, she didn’t seem to have much of a suck reflex at all, so seeing her act like a little pro tonight was the sweetest sight.

She’s still SO tiny, and I’ll be absolutely thrilled when we finally hit that one-pound mark! Every tiny bit of progress feels like a huge victory right now.

We’re taking this one feeding, one ounce, and one little victory at a time. We still have a long way to go, but tonight we’re celebrating the progress!

Will you PLEASE keep praying for our sweet Iris? 🙏🏻❤️ We’re hopeful she just needed a little boost to get started, and we’re praying she continues to grow stronger every day.

And if you’re new here, stick around and follow along on Iris’s journey! We’ll be sharing the little victories and hopefully a whole lot of growing as this tiny girl fights her way toward being a big, healthy golden retriever.
