We are a Non-Profit Corporation who rehabilitates injured or sick wild horses and foals from the range in hopes to release them back to the wild. If they can’t go back to the Wild then they are placed in appropriate homes.

We had a very busy weekend and we’re preparing to say farewell to 2 more LBL horses!

Congratulations to Jamie and her family for adopting Tango! And to Joe and Jonelle for adopting Ben!

Tango has been with us since last year when she came in with Dot, who was adopted a little over a month ago. We’re excited she’ll be joining a gelding and will get a big area to stretch her legs and a family who will give her the love she deserves!

We originally picked up Ben for trail riding, but then we found him a family who wanted to adopt him. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out and he was returned. He’ll be joining another gelding and we think it will be a great fit. He seemed to take to Joe easily and we think they’ll create a lasting bond.

Both of these horses are so deserving of a loving home and we’re excited to watch them settle into their new homes.

We’re so excited to announce the adoption of Rusty! He’s gone to an amazing new home that has a mini mare to keep him company! He sure will be missed around here, but we’re so happy for him and his new family!

ADOPTED!!! Congratulations Carolyn!

Look who is now available for adoption!?! We received additional information on Glory, who we had named Dixie. She is 20-21 years old and a master cart driver. She has been vaccinated, floated and hoof trimmed since coming to LBL.

Glory loves to be groomed, is easy to halter and definitely a mare. She argues with the mare next to her through panels but often stands side by side acting like her best friend. We’d describe her has a typical mare with lots of personality. She loves kids and is absolutely beautiful!

We do require a site visit prior to completing the adoption!

All of us here at LBL Equine Rescue hope you had a wonderful holiday! Happy 2026 to everyone!!!

We started the year out with desperately needed farrier work on the 2 adorable ponies that came in last month. Considering the state the hooves were in, both did amazingly well.

Tomorrow they’ll receive veterinary care from Dr. Sean including vaccinations, teeth check and if all goes well, Rusty will be gelded. I have to say, Rusty is absolutely adorable and sweet with the most beautiful mane around!

Dixie is quite funny with her mare-like attitude. She squeals and kicks at her neighbor, Lacey, but then we find them standing side by side at the panel. 😁

Below are some pictures of hooves and farrier. Thanks to Curtis who spent a great deal of time working with each of them, even in the wind and rain.

Say hello to Dixie and Rusty, the ultimate pony pair joining our rescue crew!

We're getting them all settled in and comfy before scheduling a vet extravaganza - think aging, vaccinations, dental assessment, and farrier work, because ponies love a good pedicure too. Dixie, our gorgeous palomino, is rocking a fluffy coat that's hiding a skinny figure, and Rusty, the eternal bachelor, is finally taking the plunge and getting gelded. We've got a refeeding program in the works for Miss Dixie to help her reach her ideal weight.

We know budgets are tight, especially during the holidays, but if you can spare a donation, we accept Zelle and PayPal.

We’re super excited to announce the adoption of our beautiful red head Rosie! She is joining Shakira at their new home and both are settling in nicely. Shakira was adopted earlier this year, but stayed at LBL until yesterday.

So happy for Gabi, who we know will take amazing care of them. It won’t be the same around here with the 2 gone, but we’re excited to see how they progress in their new home.
