This is the only page by the volunteer organization AFWC, benefiting, promoting and sponsoring the care at the Wyoming County Animal Shelter in NYS. ♥️🐾 We are a non-profit organization; all donations go directly to support the WCAS dogs. We also work to promote responsible pet ownership in Wyoming County.

📸😍CALENDAR COVER CONTEST😍📸
ATTENTION WYOMING COUNTY RESIDENTS:
Animal Friends is gearing up to create our next shelter dog fundraiser calendar for 2027. This calendar will highlight a few dogs that have been successfully adopted through the Wyoming County Animal Shelter throughout the past year. And we NEED YOU to participate in its creation!
Submit a photo of your doggie to enter for a chance to be featured on the cover of the calendar! ALL WYOMING COUNTY DOGS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE CONTEST, whether or not they were adopted. The submission photo does not have to be professionally taken as the winner will also receive a FREE professional photoshoot donated by Jamie Pankow Photography! Photoshoot to occur between July & September. One of these photos will be featured on the calendar!

To submit your photo, send us a message with your pets name included between June 15th and June 20th.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Must be a Wyoming County resident
•Must include doggies name
•Only 1 dog in the photo
•When submitting photo, state that it is for “Calendar Photo Contest”
•Please submit photo through direct messaging if possible

Between June 21st and June 30th, AFWC members will pick the Top 5 of all the entries. ✨BECOME AN AFWC MEMBER TO VOTE HERE FIRST!✨
From there you can vote for the winner between July 1st to July 5th!

This unneutered male, King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, was found wandering in the village of Wyoming. He’s very sweet and had a microchip, but the information was not kept current unfortunately. ADOPTION!

Alex was a stray who came to the shelter with very little training. After a few days we realize he suffered from anxiety and even though he was a fully grown dog he very much was still a puppy. He loved everyone and was happy to be with people. AFWC sponsored his neutering and microchipping. After a failed adoption the next one worked. His new family has worked hard to make an Alex have a good life. So many dogs come to our shelter needing someone to work with them and give them a 2 chance. We celebrate Alex having that new life and for the families that give it their all to make that happen.

ADOPTION!

Ben came the Wyoming county shelter as a stray. He had a lot of anxiety but just wanted to be with people and have at lots of love. AFWC sponsored his microchip and neutering… we are happy for Ben that he now has his forever home!

Special Shout-Out to the kids of the Wyoming 4H group! They donated some AMAZING items for the shelter dogs and sanitation items used frequently. They each received one of the AFWC coloring books, newsletter and also got a special tour of the shelter by staff. We have such a great community!
