Why did another pet go back before mine? 🚨

In the ER, patients aren’t always seen in the order they arrive. Every pet is triaged so our team can determine who needs medical attention most urgently.

That means a pet experiencing a life-threatening emergency may be brought back immediately — even if they arrived after you.

We know waiting with a sick or injured pet can be stressful. If you’re waiting, it doesn’t mean your pet has been forgotten. Our team is continually assessing patients and prioritizing care based on their medical needs.

Different patients. Different needs. Same commitment to care. 💙

While attending EVECCS in Scotland, some of our team had the opportunity to visit Apex Vets Scotland.

Despite being 4,000+ miles apart, we found a lot in common: a commitment to great medicine, great teams, and the value of independent veterinary medicine.

Meet Dr. Ben! 🐾

Founder & Co-Founder of Apex Vets, Dr. Ben brings passion, leadership, and a strong background in emergency veterinary medicine to our team. He earned his B.S. in Criminology & Criminal Justice from University of Maryland (Go Terps!) and his V.M.D. from University of Pennsylvania College of Veterinary Medicine, followed by a Small Animal Rotating Internship at Veterinary Emergency and Referral Group.

Originally from Princeton, he’s a proud pet parent to Winston the French Bulldog and Franklin the Newfoundland.

Favorite wild animal: The manatee.

Fun fact: He once auditioned, unsuccessfully, for an Oscar Mayer Wienermobile commercial. 😅
