How are you celebrating the Fourth of July? 🇺🇸

Will you be surrounded by family and friends, grilling out and enjoying the festivities? Or maybe you prefer a quiet evening at home, watching the fireworks from your window. No matter how you celebrate, all of us at Delta Veterinary Clinic are getting into the patriotic spirit!

One of our favorite parts of the holiday season is seeing all of the furry faces that come through our doors. We love caring for your pets and helping keep them happy, healthy, and safe.

As we head into the holiday weekend, don’t forget that fireworks can be stressful for many pets. If your pet may need anxiety medication, please call ahead and request refills before the Fourth of July rush. If you’re planning to travel, now is also a great time to reserve your pet’s boarding stay, as spots can fill up quickly.

And a special shoutout to Megan for making our clinic look festive and welcoming with her beautiful Fourth of July decorations out front! ❤️🤍💙

We hope you and your pets have a safe, fun, and happy Independence Day! 🐾🇺🇸

Monday Pet Education

Why Does My Pet Eat Stool?

While it may seem strange (and unpleasant), stool eating is actually a fairly common behavior in dogs. Some pets may eat stool due to:

🐶 Curiosity or learned behavior
🐶 Boredom or seeking attention
🐶 Anxiety or stress
🐶 Nutritional deficiencies or digestive issues
🐶 Simply liking the smell or taste

Although some cases are behavioral, stool eating can occasionally be linked to an underlying medical condition. If your pet is frequently eating stool, it is a good idea to discuss it with your veterinarian.

At Delta Veterinary Clinic, we can help determine if there is an underlying cause and discuss treatment options. We also carry over-the-counter stool-eating deterrent chewables that may help discourage the behavior.

Happy Father’s Day from Delta Veterinary Clinic!

Today we celebrate all the dads who make life a little better—whether they’re tossing tennis balls, taking early morning walks, sharing snacks under the table, or providing endless belly rubs and cuddles.

Thank you to all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and pet dads who love and care for their families, both two-legged and four-legged. Your patience, dedication, and unconditional love make a difference every day.

We hope you have a wonderful Father’s Day filled with family, laughter, and plenty of time with the pets who think you’re their favorite human. ❤️

📸 We’d love to help honor the fathers in our community! Share a photo of yourself and your father, grandfather, or favorite father figure in the comments below.

Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Delta Veterinary Clinic!

☀️🐾 Saturday Pet Safety Reminder 🐾☀️

With today’s heat and humidity, pets can overheat quickly.

🚨 Signs of Overheating:
• Excessive panting
• Heavy drooling
• Bright red gums
• Weakness or lethargy
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Stumbling or collapse

❄️ Keep Pets Cool:
✅ Provide plenty of fresh water
✅ Limit outdoor activity during peak heat
✅ Walk early or late in the day
✅ Provide shade and air conditioning
✅ Avoid hot pavement

🚫 Never leave your pet in a parked vehicle—even for a few minutes.

🆘 If your pet appears overheated, move them to a cool area, offer water, and contact your veterinarian.

🎉🐾 Help Us Wish Tanner a Very Happy Birthday! 🐾🎉

Today we’re celebrating Tanner! 🎂

Tanner has been part of the Delta Veterinary Clinic family for nearly five years. She started her journey with us in the kennels, where her love for animals quickly shined through. Today, she is a member of our grooming department, helping pets look and feel their very best.

Bugatti is spending the weekend with us for boarding, and it’s safe to say he has already made himself right at home!

Whether he’s keeping an eye on everything from his run, exploring outside, or rolling over for belly rubs, Bugatti knows how to make friends wherever he goes. Just look at that smile! 😍

We love getting to spend time with our boarding guests and making sure they feel comfortable, loved, and cared for while their families are away.

A Day in the Life of Scratcher 🐾🐱

Being the clinic cat is serious business! From supervising appointments and greeting visitors to inspecting every corner of the clinic, Scratcher makes sure everything runs according to feline standards
Today’s task? Quality control on the exam table.

We may think we’re the ones taking care of the clinic, but let’s be honest—Scratcher is really the one in charge around here. ❤️

Chardonnay came in today for her second round of Distemper/Parvo vaccination and a groom. She was feeling a little anxious during her visit, so Alyssa got creative and rigged up a puppy sling so she could carry her close while continuing to work. 🐾💕

Safe to say Chardonnay enjoyed the extra cuddles and TLC during her appointment today!
