Today we’re celebrating a HUGE milestone for Monte — 1 YEAR IN REMISSION! 🥳🐾

Monte was diagnosed with thyroid carcinoma and underwent surgery to have his thyroid removed. We’re thrilled to say that he is doing GREAT, and even better… his scans are CLEAR! 🙌✨

What a wonderful milestone to celebrate! 🥹

🐾 September is Animal Pain Awareness Month

Our pets can’t tell us when something hurts—and many of them are very good at hiding their pain. ❤️

Changes such as slowing down, difficulty getting up, hesitating to jump or use stairs, sleeping more, decreased appetite, limping, or simply “not acting like themselves” can sometimes be signs that your pet is uncomfortable.

As we begin a new month, we want to encourage pet owners to pay attention to those little changes. Pain shouldn’t simply be accepted as a normal part of getting older.

If you’ve noticed changes in your pet’s activity, mobility, appetite, or behavior, give us a call. We’re here to help keep them comfortable and enjoying the things they love. 🐶🐱❤️

We’re facing an extended stretch of dangerously hot weather, and our pets feel it too! 🐾

💧 Keep plenty of fresh water available
🏠 Keep pets indoors and cool whenever possible
🐾 Avoid hot pavement and midday walks
🚗 NEVER leave a pet in a vehicle
🌳 Keep outdoor time short and provide shade

Watch for excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse. Heatstroke is an emergency—seek veterinary care immediately.

Today, August 28th, we take a moment to remember the beloved pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. ❤️

As a veterinary team, we have the privilege of watching so many of your pets grow—from playful puppies and kittens to treasured senior companions. And sometimes, we also have the difficult privilege of being there when it’s time to say goodbye.

We know they are never “just a pet.” They are family. They leave paw prints on our floors, fur on our clothes, and memories in our hearts that stay with us forever. 🐾❤️

📚✏️ BACK TO SCHOOL! 🍎🚌

Today is the first day back to school for Sikeston Public Schools and many of our surrounding area schools!

The team at Delta Veterinary Clinic wants to wish all of our students, teachers, administrators, bus drivers, school staff, and parents a wonderful and safe school year! ❤️

And while the kids are heading back to the classroom, don’t forget about those four-legged family members at home who may be wondering where everybody went! 🐶🐱 Changes in routine can be an adjustment for our pets, too—so give them a little extra love and attention as everyone settles into their new schedules.
