Due to temporary staffing shortages, the Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center will have to adjust its hours. Starting on Tuesday, August 4, the shelter will not open until noon each day. The new operating hours will be Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.

The Sierra Vista Animal Control staff collects aluminum cans to raise funding for sick and injured stray animals and other general shelter needs. Cans can be dropped off to the blue recycling bins at the shelter at any time. Please remember that the shelter accepts aluminum drink cans only, and please bag them.

Tabs from the cans can also be separated and bagged for donation to increase their value. Thanks to all who bring their cans to help us raise additional funding, and to the fantastic volunteers who do recycling runs for us!

Scooby is eager to find his furever family. 🐾

He came to the shelter back in March after being removed from a home as part of an arrest, along with three other dogs. One by one, the others have found their forever families. Only Scooby and his housemate, Jack, are waiting for someone to choose them. 🏡

Despite everything he's been through, Scooby hasn't let it dim his spirit. He's an affectionate, energetic, and incredibly sweet boy who's ready to leave shelter life behind and start the next chapter of his story. 🐶

His dream? A cozy couch to call his own, morning zoomies in the yard, toys to chase, and a family to shower with love.

This handsome pit bull was originally adopted from P.A.C.C. in Tucson, but through no fault of his own, he found himself back in a shelter after he wasn't a good match for a home with cats. Now he's looking for a fresh start with a family who will love him forever. ❤️

Rigby is an absolute sweetheart with a heart as big as his smile. He loves to run, play, and soak up attention from his people. Whether you're looking for a hiking buddy, a fetch champion, or a cuddle partner after a day of fun, Rigby is ready to be by your side. 🏡

This beautiful Belgian Malinois was found as a stray, and so far, no one has come forward to claim her. If you recognize Flora or know where she belongs, please contact the shelter at (520) 458-4151. 🐾

Flora was on a medical hold and is now available for adoption since she's medically cleared. While she can be a little nervous when meeting new people. give her a little patience and kindness, and she warms up quickly, showing what sweet girl she truly is.

As a Belgian Malinois, Flora is an intelligent, active dog who would much rather be exploring trails, playing with her family, or learning new tricks than spending her days in a kennel. The shelter can be an overwhelming place for a sensitive girl like her, and we'd love to see her find a loving home as soon as she's ready.

We have a few dogs under a year old that are ready for adoption! These pups have been waiting to mee their furever families.

Why puppies?

🐶They can bond early with you.
🐾Blank slates who are ready to learn!
🐶Playful and full of energy.
🐾Easily transitioned into homes with children and other animals.

If you are interested in a young pup, we suggest that you come by the shelter. Get to know the puppies and spend some one on one time with them.

Puppies do have the tendency of teething, having accidents in the home, and make mistakes as they learn. Only consider a puppy if you have the time and energy to work with and give them grace as they learn.

Our shelter is full of wonderful older dogs waiting for a family to call their own. After years of loyalty and love, they deserve more than spending their golden years in a kennel.

Why adopt a senior dog?

❤️Most are house-trained and know the basics.
❤️Their personalites are established, what you see is what you get.
❤️They're normally calmer and past the puppy chewing, digging, and endless energy.
❤️They are grateful for every soft bed, gentle touch, and loving home.
