***The Love Of Fort Catamo***

Lazarus plays possum while baby possum eats out of the food bowl beside him. Lazarus was a feral wildcat 5 months ago but I caught him and got him neutered and now he is tame as a kitten. Raccoons, possums, and cats have always ate beside each other for 15 years. It is all about nature...the nature of love. But we have our linits here---no rats or mice.🐈😻🐾💤

☆☆Fort Catamo Cat Resue~Lots of wire and cable cutting but a portion of the top of the main secrion of Fort Catamo has landed on the ground inside the structure. Will be hours of repair work that won't come easy for "Catman."☆☆

This Sunday tearing down the top on the main section. Over the years tree upon tree and giant limbs have knocked holes in the top and nearly demolished it to the point of bringing it down today.

Cats have been moved to the back section of Fort Catamo for what will be a while. It cost me approximately 10 thousand dollars to build Fort Catamo and I am sure it would take at least 3 times that much to rebuild it if it had to be built from the ground up. At 71 years old I am not sure I would be up to the task of rebuilding.

Lots of sweat was poured into this place. I was the sole builder 15 years ago. No help could be found back then.

One week ago caught a momma cat and three of her older kittens. I needed to get the momma fixed and the kittens and drop them back off to the backyard of a lady's house. They were feral. The mom had 4 more kittens three days later in my front bedroom. Now one of her older kittens is fixing to have babies. Someone had tossed four other kittens and a momma cat next door where I had gotten the 4 feral cats. A pit bull owned that yard and the dog ran one of the kittens up a tree. I rescued those 5 also. These cats are in the front bedroom at my house. Things were not supposed to turn out this way and it looks like 13 new cats at Fort Catamo plus however many the middle aged kitten has. Sorry, I misjudged. Someone dumped off a little Tortoise Shell Kitten at Fort Catamo 4 days ago. No rest for the weary here and I am not sure how I will be able to fund all the new spaying and neutering prospects. Was just trying to help someone who didn't need mass producing in her backyard. But now it has turned into mass producing at Fort Caramo Cat Rescue. The Lord thy God is the Provider. Hopefully my faith is up and beyond.

This one spayed and neutered showed up a week ago. Don't know if someone is dropping these off or not but I have to chase owls off with high powered flashlights on a nightly basis. These small cats are not going to last long around my place. Ditch seperates my backyard from neighbors and everything from owls to coyotes and who knows what else visits the water source around here.

This lil' kitten showed up here at Fort Catamo two weeks ago. He ran into my garage and I was able to nab him or her. Would have been owl meat if I would not have caught it. Definitely don't need this. Six months of health problems and frequent doctor visits for yours truly here has Fort Catamo in the critical stages.

Seems like the storm two nights ago not only brought damage to the structure of Fort Catamo but brought a little kitten which I suppose got separated from its momma. Had not I captured it I am sure the owls around here would have made a tasty treat out of this lil' critter. Even though I can't afford any more cats or kittens there is always the exception. However, one heart of gold need other hearts of gold to keep this place from going extinct. Spent over $30,000 out of my pocket last year and one thousand dollars in donations though appreciated isn't going to save this place for much longer.
