Getting squeaky clean on this Sunday afternoon!! 8 dogs and 15 kennels😱

Dogs should be accustom to frequent handling, your vet and groomer will certainly agree. Outside of basic training another great thing to do is set a weekly goal involving handling. I like to trim nails and clean ears once a week for ALL dogs on property.

Here you’ll see me utilizing the place command while bathing. I like to have dogs on an elevated dog stand and I’ve found this car foam sprayer really helps quicken the bathing process.

What a feeling! 🤩 A HUGE congratulations to the owners of these dogs. To say my expectations have been exceeded would be an understatement.
In November of 2024, I began planning my first litter of performance Golden Retrievers. I spent time meticulously interviewing every prospective buyer, and I must say all of the hard work was worth it. Out of the litter of nine, we had seven hunting homes, and out of those seven, we were lucky enough to have four hunt test homes. Collectively, these pups have earned 24 passes and 6 titles just over the past 5 months!
None of this would be possible without their amazing owners and one fabulous trainer. John McCarter owner of Bayou Gundog LLC, has worked his magic yet again on these little red dogs.

I want to be a dog trainer, what do I need to know? Cleaning, product testing, equipment management, dish washing, sweeping, grounds keeper, and p**p assessment expert.
Red Dog keeps me busy, but there’s nothing else I’d rather do.

Teaching them to settle.
Some dogs have a natural off switch and some dogs must be taught. The “place” command is invaluable, whether you’re brining a newborn home or you just want to be able to answer the door without your dog at your heels. Extremely proud of Ollie and his progress in training.

Why a famous stud dog won’t save a mediocre performance litter

If you are chasing top-tier athletic performance, stamina, and drive in a competitive retriever, that is a massive mistake. Here is why the biology backs a proven dam:

1️⃣ Mitochondria is Maternal: Stamina and muscle recovery are driven by mitochondria. This specific DNA bypasses the father entirely. It is passed down exclusively through the mother. A strong bitch line means an engine built for the long haul.

What does retirement look like for a retriever? It’s beach vacations, its continued training, its hunt testing during the off season, hunting trips, and sleeping on mom’s pillow while she works and cleans. We sure love having our Delta girl.
