We were proud to be the hosting location for this event for the community. Several members of our staff and Dr. Ochoa donated their time and skill to help spay and neuter all of these pets.♥️

Everyone worked tirelessly and with love and amazing things happened! We are grateful to have the relationships that we do that allow us to be able to treat so many animals and help give back where we can. Together we can accomplish so much!♥️🐾

We love Paddy and hope to see him completely healthy and happy in the near future!♥️🍀

🍀 PADDY UPDATE — THE GOOD, THE MEATBALLS & A LITTLE CONCERN 🍀

Our sweet Paddy is doing WONDERFULLY in so many ways! 💚🐾

He is healing beautifully from his surgery, his appetite is fantastic, and we can genuinely see a difference in his spirit! There is so much more puppy playfulness coming out of this little guy. It's almost as though he's discovering what it feels like to finally FEEL GOOD! 🥹♥️

Now, he's not particularly impressed with crate rest or his dietary restrictions. 😂 The little meatballs he's allowed to eat are apparently delicious, but we're pretty sure Paddy would gladly eat an entire world made of meatballs if given the opportunity!

However, we do have a new concern. 💔
Paddy has recently begun experiencing seizures, something he has never experienced before. Naturally, this has us worried, and he had a veterinary visit today to address this new development.

We are monitoring him closely and hoping this may be related to his medications rather than something more serious.

Next week, Paddy will undergo an examination under sedation to evaluate how his surgical repair is healing. The findings will be shared with his medical team at Colorado State University.

While this is NOT another surgery, it is still a medical procedure with expenses, and we could certainly use a little help covering the cost. 💚

We were hoping for a little less excitement during recovery, but Paddy apparently has other plans! 😂

Despite this new concern, he is eating, growing stronger and showing us more of that wonderful personality every day.

This little one stayed for us for a few days to receive care before being transferred to a wildlife rehab. We are happy that we were able to work with everyone to provide the best care possible! 🦝🦝🦝

A reminder that wildlife should not be picked up or touched. Call your local game and fish or wildlife rescue/rehab. We are so happy this little one is doing well!🦝🦝🦝

Our little rescue has a name—and a happy update!

I visited the little raccoon today and spoke with the vet providing care. This little one is doing very well and will most likely be transferred to wildlife rehabilitation today!

The name with the most likes on yesterday’s post was Brook, so Brook it is! Since this baby was found right next to the flowing water, the name fits perfectly.

Another heartfelt thank-you to Brandon for helping me with yesterday’s rescue, and to the homeowner for reaching out and keeping this baby as dry as possible with an umbrella during the torrential rain. That call helped save Brook's life.

A huge thank-you to Alta Sierra Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Ochoa, and the staff for giving this little one the care and chance it needed!

Please remember: don’t pick up wild animals—even babies—unless you’re trained and authorized to handle them. Call a wildlife professional for help. A bite can put both you and the animal at risk. Sadly, a raccoon that bites someone may need to be euthanized for rabies testing. If bitten, seek medical care promptly and contact your local health department.

Please meet Lord Dragon. Dragon is a Persian cat and is owned by one of our amazing clients who’s Persians we’ve seen for awhile!

Dragon was in to establish care with Dr. Snyder and receive his vaccines. He was so sweet and curious. We are excited to care for you as the years come, Dragon!🐉 ♥️🐱🐾

Fun Fact: Persian cats are considered one of the oldest pedigreed cats in history!🗯️

Alta Sierra has some seriously dedicated employees! With the massive amounts of rain we have received, the drain in our dog yard was completely filled with debris. Our amazing practice manager Sarah, and our KA Krysti, got out there and cleared it all out.

Our staff is always going above and beyond for our clinic! We are incredibly grateful for such awesome individuals. 🌈🐾☔️⛈️

We are excited to announce that starting in October, Dr. Stoddard will begin taking limited appointments on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.♥️ Dr. Stoddard has had wonderful mentorship and we are excited to see her career take off!🐾🩺🐱🐶

We are excited as our staff is growing and our ability to see more patients, is expanding. We are grateful for your support and sticking with us through times of limited doctors and staff.♥️🐱🐶🐾🩺🌈

Luna has been coming to us since she was a tiny puppy, and yesterday she had her spay done with Dr. Snyder! She is so dang cute!🥰

We love watching our little patients grow from puppies to adults and watch as they experience life with our clients! It’s a wonderful gift!

The shelters are at capacity and need your help. Every day we see rescues and shelters doing all they can for the abundance of strays and dumped animals that are here on the mountain. To try and encourage adoptions and help how we can, any booster vaccines needed after adoption will be provided at no cost for dogs adopted from the Holbrook shelter in the next two weeks.
If you have considered getting a pet or think that you have room in your heart and home to adopt, please consider doing so. Remember to spay and neuter your pets, and help the over population of animals on the mountain.♥️
