Sometimes, healing begins with a horse and a safe place to be seen. 🐴❤️
Because of the generosity of our community, the incredible support of our friends at Chick-fil-A Chambersburg, our dedicated volunteers, our amazing herd, and everyone who gave during our Match Madness campaign this past March, Reins of Rhythm is able to bring hope, healing, and connection to youth in foster care.
And this week alone, more than 75 youth experienced the unique joy and impact that can come through simply spending time with a horse.
During one of our Paint Your Story activities, two children shared words that stopped us in our tracks:
> “I need to see all the horses’ eyes, because when you look in their eyes they are kind. Do you know people’s eyes show if they are kind? And some people are not. But all the horses are—I can see it in their eyes.”
Another child painted a sign representing betrayal and told us:
> “I am going to make a sign of betrayal and let Rose carry it away because that hurts. But I am making a circle with a heart in it too, because that way Rose knows I won’t betray her. She and I love each other.”
These are more than activities. They are moments of trust. Moments of expression. Moments where a child can feel safe, seen, heard, and valued.
And they happen because you make them possible.
Your generosity gives Reins of Rhythm the ability to bring equine-assisted experiences to children and other underserved members of our community who may not otherwise have access to them.
