Finn’s first time “Off Leash” video! Got this done in about two weeks.. working around weather and a little restricted access. He also is golden with his indoor manners as well. Transition to owners is next!!

The answer is...

it depends on the type of mint! 🌱

✅️ Fresh peppermint & spearmint leaves are generally considered safe for dogs in small amounts.

✅️ Wild mint also known as corn mint is also typically safe for dogs.

❌️ Pennyroyal and English Pennyroyal should be avoided due to the presence of a compound called pulegone

There are several health benefits of mint for dogs such as...
-Freshens breath
-Good for digestion
-It's anti inflammatory
-It contains antioxidants

I usually get into it a lot more with play but for video purposes, this will have to do! This is an example of how I combine play with practicing the commands you want your dog to learn. If I need to correct for inappropriate behavior like excessive jumping or too much play biting.. I do that as well but Finn here is past that stage and he now understands how we play and he knows his commands as well!

Finn working on more distractions. First time at this park and he did fantastic! He’s working on a 30’ dropped leash and specifically his Recall Command. Finn is going through The Home Trainer Program.
