💙🐾 **Happy National Vet Tech Week!** 🐾💙

Today, we’re celebrating our amazing veterinary technicians — **Harli, Kylie, Avie, Nancy, and Grace!** 🎉

Here at SBF, our technicians are truly the backbone of everything we do. From dogs and cats to livestock and everything in between, their knowledge, adaptability, and compassion make an incredible difference every single day. 🐶🐱🐄🐴

Their expertise goes far beyond what happens during the exam. They help keep appointments moving, assist with procedures, monitor anesthesia, care for hospitalized patients, educate clients, troubleshoot unexpected challenges, and provide comfort to animals when they need it most. They juggle countless responsibilities, think on their feet, and bring skill and dedication to every patient that comes through our doors. Most importantly they wrangle Dr Grillo 🤣🤣😅.

Mixed-animal medicine requires a special kind of technician — one who can switch gears, adapt to different species and situations, and meet each patient’s unique needs. We depend on their experience, their attention to detail, their teamwork, and their willingness to step up when the day gets hectic. Our practice simply would not be the same without them!

Harli, Kylie, Avie, Nancy, and Grace, thank you for the long days, the hard work, the problem-solving, the compassion, and all the little things you do that often go unseen. Thank you for advocating for our patients, supporting Dr G, caring for our clients, and showing up with dedication even on the toughest days.

**You are valued, you are appreciated, and you are an essential part of what makes our practice special.** We are incredibly lucky to have you on our team! 💙

Help us celebrate these amazing ladies and give them the recognition they deserve! 🩺🐾

Ever wondered how to medicate a duck or chicken? One of our clients let us share the video she took of Dr G teaching her how to do it! Now you know 😁

These SBF dwelling barn boys may look like happy flowers, but really they just lost their balls 😅. They want to remind all our farm and feline loving friends- we have feral prices! If you have that feral population and kittens 🐈‍⬛🐈🐱being born left and right, or that barn cat you may never touch again that needs spayed/neutered, ask us about the special pricing we offer! Call or text 877 793 3383 for special pricing.

This is our part to reduce the load on shelters/rescues and to assist our clients who want to help but dont have lots of 💰💰💰 to put towards cats that arent their pets. These prices are ONLY available for ferals, so please, do not abuse this so that we may continue to offer it.

When AI fails but also wins. Our AI scribe decided to make our appointment a Soap opera instead of SOAP (subjective, objective, assessment, plan) note. Our appointments are VERY dramatic according to it. This is what it generated, also why we are not worried about losing our jobs to AI. Avie Brewington Parker

Avie- goat trainer extraordinaire. She can even teach goats to sit and stay during their annual exams.
But seriously, we are lucky to have awesome technicians who are skilled with many species 🤩🤩

Sometimes you just have to get an accurate weight on a patient and do hoof radiographs. And sometimes your tech ends up slightly confused holding a pony on a scale in the clinic because our Dr didnt wanna move the xray and set it up again after another patient 🤣🤣😅

We had a great week with 4th year student (soon to be Dr in 2027) Cici Sullenger!! Unfortunately we only had a week to teach her as much as we could, but we managed to get her experience on dogs, cats, chickens, pigs, goats, cows, horses, work on surgery skills, ALLLL THE LAB WORK.... and even learned how to change a tire (twice)😅😅🤣. We cant wait to see what she does and where she goes in the future but our large animal profession has a good egg heading its way!
As always, thank you so much to all of our wonderful clients who allow us to teach using your animals and take pictures while we do so.

As many of you have probably seen, there has been a horrible incident with a north carolina petting zoo where 4 baby goats at an event tested positive for rabies after being ill, euthanized, and tested, so everyone at that event is having to be treated as well for potential rabies exposure. Rabies is a horrible and painful way to die with no cure. There is no living animal test to diagnose rabies, only a postmortem to diagnose it. This is why we recommend vaccination of all your outside animals for rabies once a year, because you MAY NOT SEE the rabid animal that bites them but your animals, your family, and your friends could be at risk.
Call or text to check with us if your animals are up to date or if they need to be updated and to schedule. 877 793 3383
Please remember: We do have a lot of rabies in our area.

We are checking all our clinics purchases against contaminated lot numbers to make sure all our patients are safe and haven't recieved any of the suspect adequan vials. At this time it doesnt look like we have any of our patients at risk, but we are still actively checking.

A nationwide recall has been issued for certain veterinary medications after glass fibers were discovered in some injection vials during routine testing. MORE BELOW ⬇️
