She is beautiful!

It’s officially Day 200 for Mama Cat, the reigning queen of CCHS, and tomorrow might finally be her chance to go home. Thanks to the ASPCA , adoption fees are WAIVED and Mama Cat is more than ready for her royal audience.

Meet Mama Cat
Mama Cat is a gorgeous 2.5‑year‑old tortoiseshell with fluff, attitude, and charm for days. She’s independent, confident, and absolutely committed to doing things on her own terms, but when she decides you’re worthy, she’ll curl up in your lap like she’s settling into her throne.

She’s not a fan of being picked up (and she’ll tell you so), but she deeply appreciates people who respect her boundaries and let her choose when affection happens.

So excited to have this complex right here in Sherman! So fun to watch!

Area youth had the opportunity to gather and learn about dog competitions, as well as basic handling techniques during a Dog Sports Day. The event was held recently at The K9 Complex in Sherman, hosted by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County 4-H. The Dog Sports Day was made possible through a grant awarded by Nestle Purina which is being used for new agility equipment for the 4-H program, entries for youth in an AKC Fast CAT event, and four educational sessions.

**Owner is on the way to pick up!**

🐾 FOUND DOG — CLYMER-CORRY ROAD 🐾

This dog was found on Clymer-Corry Road, near the big curve.

The dog is currently safe at Tri-County Veterinary Clinic in Clymer.

🔎 The dog IS microchipped, but unfortunately the microchip is not registered, so we have not been able to identify or contact an owner through the chip.

Does anyone recognize this dog or know where they belong?

🐾 PLACEMENT NEEDED — THESE LITTLE PEANUTS NEED HOMES! 🐾

These sweet girls were rescued from an irresponsible dog owner who allowed their dogs to breed.

The family who took them in had hoped they would grow into livestock guardian dogs… but guess what?

They don’t like chickens. 😂🤦‍♀️

Cats? ✅
Kids? ✅
Other dogs? ✅
Chickens? NOPE. ❌🐓

Not exactly ideal qualifications for the job they were hired for. 😂

They’ve also turned out to be much smaller than the family anticipated. Needless to say, these little peanuts are currently house dogs, which seems to be exactly where they belong.

The problem is, their family simply doesn’t have the indoor space for four dogs, so Small Town Shelter is now helping them find appropriate new homes.

⚠️ THESE PUPS ARE NOT CURRENTLY AT SMALL TOWN SHELTER.

We are hoping to have foster-to-adopt placements lined up before this weekend. Any pups without placement will be coming to Small Town Shelter this weekend.

We are unsure of their exact breed. We were told they came from an “accidental” litter. But let’s be honest — when intact dogs are allowed to breed, there really isn’t anything accidental about the puppies that result.

But that certainly isn’t these babies’ fault. They’re here. They’re sweet. And they deserve families of their own. ❤️

🏡 These will be foster-to-adopt placements. Their spay surgeries will be scheduled, and once they are altered, their adoptions will be finalized.

We would like to see them go to separate homes to help prevent potential issues associated with littermate syndrome — including becoming overly dependent on one another, resource guarding, and conflict between siblings as they mature.
