If you see something, say something! We finally have cruelty resources again! Thank you to CCHS and The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s department for filling a much needed role in our area.❤️

The Chautauqua County Humane Society and Sheriff’s Office are formalizing a partnership by assigning a dedicated deputy to investigate animal cruelty cases. Officials say the move will strengthen enforcement, improve coordination, and better protect animals across the county.

While we may be a little quieter right now, Small Town Shelter is still here.

We are continuing to share lost pet posts and help reunite animals with their families. Our spay and neuter efforts are ongoing, and we are still working hard to find homes for our remaining adoptable dogs and cats.

Even though we are unable to take in new animals at this time, we are always here to offer advice and support when we can.

The beginning of any major project is stressful, and honestly, this transition has been overwhelming at times—and we haven't even started renovations yet. But please know that we are still here, and we will continue to update our followers every step of the way.

In the coming weeks, we will be looking for volunteers to help with cleaning, demolition, and setting up new fencing. We are excited about what's ahead.

We miss the chaos. We miss the incredible transformations that happen when a new animal comes through our doors. We miss the work we were called to do.

But this isn't goodbye.

We will be back soon—and better than ever.
