🍪Who doesn't loves some Cookies and Cream? These two have been in foster getting lots of love and exposure to 'regular life'.
We also have some wonderful tabby kittos that are ready to find their FUREVER homes!
☺️The absolute sweetest, gentle little tigers Sebastian, Sadie, Scarlett and Sierra have gotten the 'ALL CLEAR' after months of recovery and they are READY TO GO! We have a MASSIVE, engine roaring shout-out to give... 🥁

🏎️The Mid-Nite Timers Car Club raised over $4,000 for Kitten Rescue of Mason County!!! That is HUGE! 🥹😭

✨ Not only that, but our Director got to hang out and see some seriously stunning vehicles!

😻Every year this incredible group comes through for us hosting this private event and we truly cannot say thank you enough for the ongoing support from Nancy Mayer and the Mid-Nite Timers Car Club! 🫶

🥰We know we’ve been making a lot of thank-you posts lately, but our community has truly been showing up for us and we try our best to focus on the positive things that shape our days.. Especially during the stressful height of kitten season when we need all of the motivation and cheerleading we can get!

🛍️From this chicken bed that has already found it's special kitty.. the flood of blanket and hand towel donations to the volunteers putting in extra time on projects and the Mid-Nite Timers Car Club—you all rock.

♥️ Today, we pause to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, and we extend our sweetest, most sincere thank you to the veterans and military families right here in Mason County. 🫶

🗣️We are sending out the absolute biggest shout-out to two of our incredible, volunteers who have completely gone above and beyond for the rescue over the last month. We truly couldn’t imagine doing this rescue work without them!

🐸 If you haven't seen the updates to our Lily Pad Room yet, you are in for a treat! Brianna has been absolutely kicking butt painting a stunning custom scene for the cats. Watching her pour so much creative talent into this space has been nothing short of amazing. She has added the cutest, most thoughtful little details, and even though we have just a tiny bit of work left to do, it is almost done—and the cats are already completely obsessed with it!

🏎️Karl also jumped into the Lily Pad Room to help us out with some crucial wood cutting to get the space ready. But he didn’t stop there! Karl officially "pimped our ride" by giving our sad, rusty little utility wagon a brand-new lease on life. The wheels were literally falling off of it, but thanks to his handy work, hauling heavy bags of litter and food around the rescue just got a million times easier.

☺️IT’S INTERNATIONAL TEA DAY! ☕
Did you know that catnip is actually a member of the mint family? It’s completely safe, non-addictive, and provides some seriously fascinating (and hilarious) benefits for our rescue residents!

Grab a mug and check out these fun kitty tea-time facts:

🧠 The "High" Science: Catnip contains a natural oil called nepetalactone. When cats sniff it, it binds to their nasal receptors and triggers a sensory response that mimics happy feline pheromones. Cue the cheek rubbing, rolling, and joyful zoomies!

💤 Smelled vs. Swallowed: How catnip affects a cat depends entirely on how they consume it!

🌿Sniffing it acts as a major stimulant, making them playful, energetic, and downright goofy.

🍵Eating or drinking it (like a cooled catnip tea) actually acts as a mild sedative! It can help soothe an anxious kitty and lull them right into a cozy nap.

❌ The Kitten Exception: Got a tiny foster kitten? Don't be surprised if they ignore the catnip entirely! The sensitivity to catnip is hereditary, and it doesn't actually develop until a kitten is around 3 to 6 months old.

🐯 Big Cat Energy: It’s not just our domestic friends who love a tea party. Lions, leopards, and jaguars are also highly sensitive to nepetalactone and will roll around on it just like a house cat! We hope you're celebrating today Wild Felid Advocacy Center of Washington ! 😻

☕Want to treat your own kitty to a fancy tea day? Here is a simple recipe:

-Steep 1 tablespoon of organic dried catnip in 1 cup of hot water for about 5 minutes.

-Remove the herbs and let the liquid cool completely down to room temperature (never give a cat hot liquids!).

-Pour a small splash over their dinner, or offer a tiny bit in a shallow saucer as a special, hydrating afternoon treat.
