Adopt-a-Pet is an all-volunteer dog shelter serving Mason County and the surrounding areas that has been in operation for 42 years. We are an energetic team dedicated to saving the lives of unwanted, abandoned, and abused dogs. As a 501(c) 3, non-profit organization, we rely on adoption fees, donations, grants, fundraisers, and estate bequests to continue our good work. It takes a village to save

a dog and we are grateful for the support of the community. Page Rules:

Sharing to help support Kitten Rescue of Mason County!

Smudge, our cat, is wondering when you will be dropping off donations for the kitten rescue's garage sale?? The proceeds from the garage sales are a significant part of the budget that feeds and provides medical care for the kitties getting ready for their furever homes.

From today through June 22nd, we are extending our donation times to Saturday and Sunday 8am to 5pm and Monday 8am to Noon.

So go out and clear those closets, hidey holes and garage shelves and bring those gently used treasures in to us at 420 S WA 3!

☀️ HOT WEATHER PSA ☀️ Please share!

As temperatures rise, please remember that our furry friends feel the heat too!

🐾 Never leave your dog in a parked vehicle—even for a few minutes.
🐾 Walk during cooler morning or evening hours.
🐾 Check pavement with the back of your hand. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for their paws.
🐾 Always provide access to fresh, cool water and shade.
🐾 Watch for signs of heat exhaustion: excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse.

If you suspect your dog is suffering from heatstroke, seek veterinary care immediately.

Let’s keep our four-legged family members safe, cool, and comfortable this summer!

ROSIE's Story
Meet ROSIE! She is a 6-year-old (DOB 08/21/2019), 70 lb. Yellow Labrador / Golden Retriever girl who is loving and wants to please!

***LARGE DOG EXPERIENCE PREFERRED. SHE IS VERY STRONG***

Rosie is a sweet girl who is loving, she's a talker, and has a happy disposition! She is learning leash manners with us, as she is very strong. She is treat motivated, and is a fast learner. She enjoys her trail walks and road walks, lounging, and is quite cuddly. She is curious, smart, and would love to share everything with you! We were told she is quite independent, enjoys car rides where she will not make a peep, and keeps a very tidy kennel. She is housebroken.

Rosie is a great companion and family dog whose best fit family would have children who are kind and dog savvy, as she loves kids who are older due to her exuberance. She is dog social and basically ignores other dogs. Cats and other small animals are a no go for this lady, as she will chase. A secure fenced yard is required to keep him safe and happy!

If you have any other questions, email is the best method of communication. We are 100% volunteer-run and operated and are open by appointment only. Please send us an email or submit an application if you'd like to make an appointment, we'll be in touch as soon as we can! Thank you for your inquiry!

Qualified applications only. Should your application be accepted, a response will follow within 72 hours. If you have not heard back from Adoptions, your application did not meet the dog's criteria.
