Homeward Bound Large Breed Rescue - HBLBR

🐾 **Welcome to Homeward Bound, Mongo!** ❤️

We're excited to introduce the newest member of our rescue family!

Mongo is approximately 2 years old and believed to be a Mastiff/Rottweiler mix.

Mongo's journey hasn't been an easy one. He was found as a stray in Kenton County, severely underweight and malnourished. Thankfully, the wonderful people at Kenton County Animal Shelter helped him begin gaining weight and treating an injured tail after another dog got ahold of it.

Now, Mongo is settling into his foster home and beginning his next chapter with Homeward Bound! 🏡

So far, he's shown us what a sweet boy he is, and is starting to decompress and meet his resident foster brother Hugo. ❤️

We're still getting to know Mongo and learning more about his personality as he settles in, but we're excited to see what the coming weeks bring!

**Welcome to the family, Mongo!** 🐾

Stay tuned for more updates as we get to know this handsome boy!

New fear unlocked: the television. 😂📺
They were equal parts concerned, confused, and ready to throw paws. 🐾

🍕 **Pizza for a purpose — and today, that purpose has a name: Rose.** 🌹🐾

Rose and her littermates came into our care and soon faced parvo, parasites, skin infections, and other medical complications. Rose was hit especially hard and needed hospitalization and a blood transfusion to help her pull through.

Those bills don’t disappear once the puppies start feeling better.

Through **October 15**, you can help us tackle those parvo and puppy medical expenses by purchasing a **Domino’s Slice the Price Card for $20**. You’ll get **buy-one-get-one FREE large pizzas until June 30, 2027**, while helping us continue paying for the care these puppies needed.

So yes… today we’re asking you to buy pizza. 🍕
But for Rose and the rest of the Flower Puppies, it means so much more. ❤️

Grab a card, share the fundraiser, and help us chip away at those medical bills one pizza at a time!

💩😂 SERIOUSLY. HOW?! 😂💩

I need someone to explain how a puppy managed to leave p**p on the STAIRS like this.

Did it roll?
Did it bounce?
Was there some sort of p**p slinky situation happening behind my back?

Fostering is wild because one minute you’re getting puppy kisses…

…and the next you’re investigating a p**p scene on the staircase.

So what is a foster parent made of?

❤️ Love
😂 Humor
🧻 Paper towels
🐾 And the ability to expect absolutely anything

If that sounds like you, congratulations… you may already have what it takes to foster.

We need foster homes. Come join the chaos. We are accepting fosters in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, and Ohio.

Looks like some pups found the sunshine today. ☀️🐾

Samson had himself a backyard afternoon with the puppies — part sunbathing, part supervising, part being used as the neighborhood jungle gym. 😂

And the girls? Apparently their agenda was simple: wrestle, roll, chase each other around, and occasionally check in with the big guy.

These are the little everyday moments we love in foster care. No fancy setup. No perfect posing. Just dogs getting to relax, play, learn from each other, and enjoy being dogs. ❤️

And yes… Samson, Marigold, and Buttercup are still looking for their forever homes, as well as Kane, Indigo and Rose (not shown).
