Orcas are among the most powerful predators in the ocean. They hunt seals, sharks, and even whales. Yet they have never been known to kill a human in the wild.

Scientists believe this is because humans do not resemble any of their natural prey. Orcas are also highly intelligent and socially complex, capable of distinguishing between different species. They may simply recognize that we are not food.

There are reports of orcas swimming alongside kayakers, following boats, and even helping fishermen untangle lines. Their curiosity often seems more playful than threatening. The only known fatalities involving orcas have occurred in captivity, where the animals are under extreme stress.

A predator that could easily harm us chooses not to. A reminder that danger is not always measured by size or strength. 🌊🐋😮

Summer has officially arrived. Gardens are brimming with foliage and flowers galore. It is a dream for deer.
