That noisy breathing isn’t always “normal for the breed”—it can be a sign that your pup is struggling to get enough air. 💨

Meet Vader! 🖤 He recently had nares surgery to help him breathe easier. Here is his before and after picture!

Nares surgery widens narrowed or pinched nostrils, allowing more air to flow through the nose and making breathing more comfortable. It can frequently be performed at the same time as a routine spay or neuter!

The Shelby Vet Team is at it again! 🦷🐾

We had the pleasure of welcoming an instructor to the hospital for some hands-on training to brush up on our dentistry skills—and we definitely know how to make learning fun! 😆

Our technicians practiced their dental X-ray techniques, while our doctors sharpened their dental block skills. We also took the opportunity to review proper instrument care and handling to help keep our equipment in the best shape possible.

We’re always learning, growing, and working together to provide the best care we can for your furry family members! ❤️🐶🐱
