Welcome to Know Better Dog Training, Kronos 🐾

He is a 7 month old Doberman and he is a big, big boy already! Estimated to be around 140 pounds when he’s full grown, he’s already more than half way there.

His family has a 5 year old son and a French Bulldog with big energy in their house. Kronos needs to learn how to join family life without being a bull in a china shop 🙃.

His Mom struggles with putting his collars on, leash on, having him exit his crate appropriately. Making it hard for her to manage him in general.

Their overall goals are to be able to manage Kronos without constant conflict and to just have an overall great family pet dog. He’s a big puppy, but he’s totally capable of being the absolute best boy ever!

Let’s get to work 💪🏼

Welcome to Know Better Dog Training, Moose 🐾

Moose is a 1 1/2 year old Lab mix- who was recently rescued from a hoarding situation with 15 other dogs. His family has had him for the past couple weeks helping him decompress, learn their new routine and absolutely fall in love.

However, Moose is a super strong, energetic boy with a spark for exploring all things life has to offer. It has been very hard for them to walk him on leash without him pulling and lunging towards other dogs and wildlife. His Mom and Dad are looking forward to being able to take long, enjoyable and relaxing walks with Moose! Without the worry about him accidentally pulling them down.

Overall their goals are to have a well rounded dog they can enjoy for many, many years to come 🫶🏻.

Welcome to Know Better Dog Training, Bruno!

He is an 8 year old Boxer here to prove old dogs can learn new tricks 😉. But seriously- it’s never too late to improve your life with your dog, teach them new behaviors and enjoy new experiences.

Bruno specifically struggles with overall anxiety. This guy just cannot settle himself down. His family has goals of RV camper travel, calm car rides, and a stronger overall social life. It is very hard for them to leave him alone in general currently.

His program will focus on total mindset work over obedience. Changing the way he feels about the world and helping him find his calm so he can actually enjoy it with his family 🫶🏻.

Hilton Head Island allows dogs off leash on the beach if they’re under voice control.

So thankful for and E-collar training in general- giving my dogs their very best life OFF LEASH.

We get to romp, run, swim in the water and be with our family on a beach stroll, all with tons of distractions around. Other people, pets, birds and wildlife.

Thankful for this life and all of our clients who trust us with their furry family members- 🫶🏻

Shadow 🩶

Shadow is back with us for a 3 week tune up program.
His family lives in Chicago and rescued him from a bad situation where he was found tied up outside, super skinny and just not being taken care of.

He can be a super reactive boy to other dogs and people.
Our main goal in his program is to do more lessons with his family to give them more coaching and guidance on how to live their best life with Shadow and manage some of his big feelings and unwanted behaviors. Tune up all of the training he already knows and continue practicing getting out and about in public spaces and distracting environments.

He’s such a sweet, loving boy once you’ve earned his trust.

Welcome to Know Better Dog Training, Millie.

Millie is a 2 1/2 year old Chocolate lab/ Pit mix.
Her focus for training will be-
▪️ Pulls on leash
▪️ Anxiety/ pacing
▪️ Excessive joy, jumping
▪️ Reactivity and poor social skills with other dogs

Her family has already done positive only training, without being able to make lasting changes. Their hopes are to address Millie’s overall mindset and get her feeling better and more confident within herself.

Wow! What a great pack walk today 👏🏼.

Thank you to everyone who came out to work with their dogs. Everyone did amazing and it's so fun to watch everyone working as a group. The weather didn't disappoint either ☀️

Reminder- pack walks are for anyone who has completed a training program with us! They are to help us practice in a judgment free, group setting, with controlled dogs. It's a great opportunity to reel in what you may be struggling with and fine tune your handling skills with your dog. We are there to help coach, and answer any questions you may have.

I'm thinking of creating a email list of anyone interested in pack walks- as I think some of you have missed announcements on Instagram/Facebook. Let me know if you'd like to be included in this!

Capturing the moments in time that are the most correct can be done many ways. We choose a clicker for a puppy until we have good engagement and then move to our voice. For us a click or clicks mean food time like a dinner bell. As of now we are just paying to pay the puppy for being brave in the unfamiliar setting. Markers help us mark moments in time both desirable and undesirable. I can’t control the environment all the time but I can control myself - therefore I can influence and control my dog if need be.

How enjoyable to be able to relax and enjoy a peaceful walk through the park with the best dogs!

We all enjoyed our morning and the dogs absolutely killed it. From their car manners, leash manners and overall mindset. We saw lots of other people, dogs, ducks and chipmunks!

As always- the goal will always be to get you out doing MORE with your dogs…. Enjoyably 😉.

We are free for some follow up sessions this month- please reach out if there’s anything you’d like to work on and tune up!
