GOT A YOUNG BOOKWORM AT HOME? 📚🐱

Our first Rescue Readers sessions are happening Monday, October 19, and we still have reading spots available!

Rescue Readers gives students in 1st through 3rd Grade a chance to practice reading aloud with a pretty great audience: our shelter cats. ❤️

During each 30-minute session, readers will settle in near one of our cat kennels and read aloud, providing our cats with some quiet companionship and enrichment while getting a little reading practice of their own.

Choose from:

📖 3:00–3:30 PM
📖 3:30–4:00 PM
📖 4:00–4:30 PM
📖 4:30–5:00 PM
📖 5:00–5:30 PM
📖 5:30–6:00 PM- NO SPOTS LEFT

We'll provide the books, or your reader can bring a favorite from home!
Spaces are limited and advance registration is required.

➡️ Reserve a spot: adoptsheboygancounty.org/rescuereaders

Please note: Cats remain in their kennels during regular Rescue Readers sessions, and direct animal interaction is not guaranteed.

Come read a story and help write theirs. ❤️

Their next chapter starts with you.

SO. MANY. CATS. 😹
How many kinds of cats are currently waiting for homes at HSSC?

Big cats. Little cats. Shy cats. Social cats. Lap cats. Independent cats. Senior cats. Kittens with absolutely no concept of personal space.

In other words: there's a whole lot of purring waiting to happen around here. ❤️

And through October 31, ALL HSSC cats and kittens are 50% OFF during OCTO-PURR!

Remember, our adoptable cats aren't only at the shelter. You can find HSSC felines in foster homes and at PetSmart, too!

Start your search online and consider filling out an application before you visit to help make the adoption process smoother.

Our Daisy needs YOU! ❤️🐾

After waiting for a family since July, Daisy has spent the last month enjoying a much-needed break from shelter life in foster care. But her foster placement ends Friday, October 23, and we’re desperately hoping to find her a forever home before she has to return to the shelter.

She’s a total lovebug with so much affection to give. All she needs is someone willing to give her a chance. 🥹

🏡 Apply to adopt Daisy NOW: adoptsheboygancounty.org/adopt

Please read her story and SHARE! Let’s get Daisy home before next Friday. ❤️🐾

THE CATS ARE AT WAR. REINFORCEMENTS ARE COMING. AND WE'RE RUNNING OUT OF SUPPLIES. 🐈🚨

Things are getting out of paw at HSSC.
The catio has turned into a battlefield. Wand toys are under constant attack. Scratchers are taking a beating. Food bowls are mysteriously disappearing.

AND NOW?! WE HAVE 50 KITTENS IN FOSTER CARE PREPARING TO JOIN THE RANKS. 😳

That's right. FIFTY little ones currently in foster care. Including 12 tiny recruits who aren't even old enough to eat on their own yet.
Our feline forces are growing, our supplies are dwindling, and we're calling on YOU for backup this

🚨 URGENT SUPPLY REQUESTS:

🥫 WET KITTEN FOOD (NOT grain-free!) – 50 growing kittens means a LOT of hungry mouths. We need to stock up NOW before our youngest recruits start eating on their own!

🥣 FOOD BOWLS – We need reinforcements- the ones we use are on the Amazon wishlist!

💧 2 WATERPROOF MATS – Keeping headquarters clean is essential, especially around the water fountain in the catio!

🐾 SCRATCH PADS – Our little warriors are putting their claws to work, and our supply is nearly depleted.

🪶 WAND TOYS – Casualties of war. These don't stand a chance against our feline fighters, and we're running low!

📢 THIS IS YOUR CALL TO ACTION!
Our cats and kittens depend on donated supplies every single day, and with so many in shelter and little ones in foster care, we need your help keeping up.

HOW TO SEND REINFORCEMENTS:
📦 Ship directly from our Amazon Wishlist: https://a.co/0jlDIvWg
🐾 Send supplies via Chewy: https://bit.ly/ChewyWishlistHSSC
🏠 Drop off donations during open hours
