Who had the best walk in a long time? THIS guy! We were out at 6am...maybe before the squirrels were awake? But he did GREAT!! No lunging, no pulling, no barking...not. a. peep the entire walk. And we were out for about 20 minutes as the weather was perfect! He is growing up and I'm so proud of how he did. ❤️

This...this little $h*t gave me another heart attack this morning and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Once again, his leash became disconnected from his gentle leader loop. We had just finished up in the dog park and were walking back up around the building to go back inside. Leash is attached, there's tension on it as he's pulling faster up the hill than I can walk due to the icy coating on the snow.

We are trutzing down the sidewalk and all of a sudden... things just feel... different. I look down and the leash is dragging and Leo's about 3 feet ahead of me. I glance up and further down the sidewalk, I see someone heading towards me. Oh no... "C'mere Leo... c'mere boy. Here's a treat!" and THANK THE HEAVENS, he trotted right back to me 'cause he's as food driven as I am.

Then, I see the person that was on the sidewalk and she's now in the parking lot taking a bag of trash to the dumpster... and I see her setter / retriever type dog with her. Ohhhhh, that could have gone so wrong... so fast.

But I check the clasp every time I put it on his leash!! There's no snow that's stuck. No dirt. I close it completely. The loop isn't in the way and preventing it from closing. The clasp moves freely every time I manually putz with it. I'm clueless... and petrified. I'll post a picture of the clasp in the comments and maybe you can give me an idea of what might be happening.

Tonight both pups gobbled down their supper! A few minutes later, Leo is rooting around in the Yoohoo box as if his life depends on it. Since its right next to the kibble bin, I look to see if a piece fell in. Nope.

He is still rooting around 5 minutes later. So I tip the box over to show him...no kibble, go lay down

He continues to nudge, snort, claw and clamber at the box.

Fiiiiiiine....I'll look again and just show you that there's no kibble in it.

Except there is....one tiny piece two rows down of small Yoohoo boxes. One. Tiny. Piece.

Leo, on the other hand, didn't have as good of a day. He tore a nail this afternoon. 😢 Tina, his groomer, clipped his other nails tonight and said the torn nail will grow back and to keep an eye on it. BTW, Leo still hates to have his nails trimmed and screamed bloody murder during it...thrashing and bucking like crazy. I feel so bad for him as he just gets so worked up over it. And I'm thankful Tina at Sud-Z-Paws hasn't kicked us out from the stress she and her team have to go thru every time.
