Baby it’s hot outside …🌡️ It's still HOT this week!

Please keep a close eye on your pets during these extreme temperatures. Heatstroke can happen quickly and is a medical emergency.

Signs of heatstroke include:
🐾 Heavy panting
🐾 Difficulty breathing
🐾 Excessive drooling or thirst
🐾 Weakness or lethargy
🐾 Vomiting
🐾 A deep red or purple tongue
🐾 Seizures or unconsciousness

If your pet overheats:
✔️ Move them to a cool, shaded area.
✔️ Cool them with wet towels or cool (not cold) water.
✔️ Offer small amounts of cool water.
✔️ Seek veterinary care immediately.

The safest plan? Walk early or late, provide plenty of fresh water and shade, and leave the midday heat to the squirrels.

☀️ Summer heat is here! Let's help keep our four-legged family members safe. 🐾

As temperatures climb this week, remember that pets can overheat much faster than we do. Heatstroke is a medical emergency, so it's important to know the warning signs.

Watch for:
• Heavy panting or difficulty breathing
• Glazed eyes or a rapid heartbeat
• Excessive thirst or drooling
• Weakness, lethargy or lack of coordination
• Vomiting
• A bright red or purple tongue
• Fever, seizures or unconsciousness

If your pet becomes overheated:
🐾 Move them to a cool, shaded or air-conditioned area.
🐾 Apply cool (not cold) wet towels or ice packs to the head, neck and chest, or gently run cool water over them.
🐾 Offer small amounts of cool water or allow them to lick ice cubes.
🐾 Contact your veterinarian and seek immediate veterinary care.

The best way to protect your pet is to avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day, make sure they always have fresh water and shade, and never leave them in a parked vehicle.

A little prevention can make all the difference. Stay safe and enjoy the summer!

We still have triple-digit temp days forecast, so let's continue to protect our four-legged family members.

🔥 Heatstroke can happen fast—and it can be fatal. Dogs and cats can’t sweat like we do, and even a few minutes in the heat can be dangerous.

Here’s how you can help keep your pet safe:

✅ Make sure they have access to plenty of fresh, cool water
✅ Limit outdoor time, especially during peak heat hours
✅ Walk them early or late—avoid hot pavement that can burn paws
✅ Never leave pets in a parked car, even with the windows cracked
✅ Watch for warning signs: excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, or confusion

If your pet shows signs of heat exhaustion or heatstroke, call us or your nearest emergency clinic immediately.
