Good morning all. Just had to show off alittle. Just in time for canning and butchering our spent hens. I baked some amazing bread and nothing roasts a chicken like a wood fire.

These guys plus 3 hens went to butcher Thursday. To say i was pleased with the yield is an understatement. From 10 birds,We had to butcher one early, I had 300 dressed. If I add in the cost of the birds, feed and processing I come up with $2.38 per pound. Now we are processing them even further by grinding the thighs,separating the breasts, smoking the legs and cooking down the necks and backs to make canned meat and broth. Which will make those birds at least 3 times the value as we have invested. These birds were 6 months old and the weight of more than a quarter of beef.

2026 hay crop finished. It's a wrap! Fingers crossed the wrapped bales is what the girls will want.

2026 harvest comes to an end.lol our whole 7 acres. This will feed our animals for the year.

We got our window for hay this week. We are blessed. A month ago you could see the ground because it was dry.
